When Antiope Jones seeks guidance from her sister, Corsica Jones describes their brothers thusly: "Ajax is stronger than a lot of giants and Ulysses is quicker on the draw than almost any Elven archer I've ever seen. Prospero is better at magic than most wizards and he's a fighter. And none of us have ever done the actual hardest thing there is to do which is disappoint mom and dad."

- Most of the Joneses are named after Greek mythology. Ajax could be named after either Ajax the Great or Ajax the Lesser, both heroes in the Trojan war. Ulysses is the Latin variant of Odysseus, the protagonist of the epic poem the Odyssey.
