One night, when the children of Amanti were out playing past their bedtimes, a beautiful fairy dressed in frayed black clothing approached them. She convinced the children to play a game with her with a beautiful ball as the prize. She told the children she would ask each of them a question that they must answer truthfully in order to earn a game of ball. She asked each of them the name of their fathers, and each time a child answered, there would be screams in the distance. When she came to Pinocchio, he lied and said his father's name was Daniel. He was instantly transformed back into a puppet.
