Description[]
"Antiope is Black, dark skin, angular features. She's wearing like black athleisure but it's all like too short at the elbows and like ankles 'cause she went through her big growth spurt while in the crystal." ― Aabria Iyengar
History[]
The Jones family is a high achieving family, with every member having gone into some kind of high ranking position, usually a militaristic or governmental one. Antiope's parents Hector and Athena Jones had four other children before Antiope; Ajax, Prospero, Ulysses and Corsica who are all within eight years of age of one another. However, Antiope was born eight years after her sister Corsica because she was an unplanned child. Because her siblings are so much older, Antiope is the last of her siblings to still be living in her parents house which is nicknamed 'The Compound'. Her older siblings call her "LCAB" for "long caboose".
Growing up Antiope was best friends with Katja Cleaver and the two would spend time reading books and playing with Katja's horses.
Due to unknown reasons, Antiope bombed out of her first adventuring party. Due to the pressure her family puts on her to be a successful fighter Antiope was slightly relieved to be trapped in a crystal because she didn't have to live up to their expectations.
Fantasy High[]
She is one of the seven maidens who were taken to Kalvaxus's lair and saved by Sandra Lynn Faeth. She also aids in the second killing of Kalvaxus.
She is the younger sister of the fighter teacher, Corsica Jones, who started working at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy to find out more about her disappearance.
Fantasy High: Sophomore Year[]
During their spring break, Antiope and The Maidens went on a quest to The Red Waste to retrieve Kalvaxus' eggs and prevent another dragon from rising to power.
Boys' Night! (Roll20Con)[]
Antiope and the Maidens went on a quest with Fig Faeth, Kristen Applebees, Adaine Abernant, and Ayda Aguefort to defeat Hyperia, the Gorgon queen of Throshk.
The Seven[]
At the start of The Seven, she is a senior at Aguefort Adventuring Academy.
Party of Seven[]
In a flashback, Antiope wakes along with the other maidens chained in Kalvaxus' lair. She has been in her crystal the longest, and has gone through a growth spurt that leaves her clothes too short. After escaping their chains and killing the guards, she and the other maidens explore the lair, and walk in to see Sam Nightingale and Penny Luckstone speaking to Talura in her mirror. Attempting to protect the others, Antiope casts hunter's sense on Talura, only to be dragged towards the mirror. She and Sam (who also became ensnared) are saved when Danielle Barkstock shatters the mirror and frees Talura. She and the rest of the maidens are taken home by Sandra Lynn Faeth.
In present time, Antiope wakes in her family home, The Compound. She walks into the kitchen to see her father, Hector Jones exercising (in clothes that embarrass her deeply) and her mother Athena Jones. They tell her about an internship they have secured for her at the Ministry of Adventuring once she graduates, reminding her of the huge legacy she will have to live up to. They are joined by her older sister, Corsica and the talk with her mother quickly escalates into a minor argument. Later, Corsica drives her to school the two, joined by their brothers over face time, talk about Antiope's fears for the future.
In or Out[]
At the Aguefort Adventuring Academy the next day, Antiope and the maidens are called into a meeting with Principal Aguefort. He explains that their party will be broken up at the end of the year, due to 4 of the 7 maidens being set to graduate before the others. However, he tells them that the completion of a high class quest and a signature from the missing Tectonya Karkovnya would allow them all to graduate and continue adventuring together.
The group leaves to discuss their options and an argument breaks out at the idea of Antiope and Penny having other opportunities they may wish to pursue after graduation besides the group. In particular, Antiope and Zelda clash with Ostentatia and Sam. When Penny, Katja, and Zelda leave, Antiope tries to check on Sam, but she is not ready to talk. As the rest of the group disperses, Antiope and Ostentatia stay behind and talk it out, with Ostentatia acknowledging that she reacted poorly.
Later, Antiope discussed the internship further with her father. She and the maidens decide to meet with her father's contact in the Ministry, Charity Blythe, to discuss the position and search for clues regarding Tectonya's disappearance. She departs with her party to Bastion City and meets with Charity beneath the skeleton of Kalvaxus.
Big City Connections[]
After her initial meeting with Charity Blythe, Antiope senses herself being tracked via the Aguefort symbol on her sweatshirt. Stripping it off, she examines the garment and discovers that she is being tracked by a bond shared with Talura, formed when she was dragged towards her mirror. Despite the concern she and her party share, they are unsure of how to fix this and instead decide to focus on tracking Tectonya Karkovnya. Antiope texts Charity to accept the internship with the Ministry with the goal of finding more information about the superintendent's disappearance.
Before departing for her meeting, Antiope and the other maidens go to Slappy McFinnegan's to celebrate her new position (though a mishap with Katja and the centaur waiter leads them to end up at Slam Burger instead).
The other maiden's call Antiope their leader, something which embarrasses her greatly and she tries to deny. Countering her, Sam points out Antiope's tattoo that says "Leader". Antiope did not remember that she had this tattoo, as she was drunk when she got it. Grabbing Sam's compact, she looks back to the tattoo parlour in the Red Waste where she and her equally drunk party got her a tramp stamp with "Leader" spelled out in two different fonts. Antiope screams for a while.
Entering the Ministry of Adventuring, Antiope is brought to Charity Blythe's office. Antiope is painfully aware she is still in a sport's bra, and requests a shirt which is provided by Charity's assistant, Preston, who strips his own shirt to give to her and tells her to keep it. She and Charity discuss the work done my the Ministry of Adventuring, and when Charity leaves, Antiope accesses her unlocked tablet to discover that Tectonya stole the Legendarium Extrordia and was marked for assasination.
As she receives a call from her party, she excuses herself to the restroom, where they share the information they gathered from their own investigations. Realizing she cannot be left behind, Antiope feigns severe "stomach problems" and is swiftly excused. On her way out Preston catches her and they flirt before she runs to rejoin her party.
Following Danielle's pollen trail of Tectonya's footsteps, Antiope and the other maidens enter the Mountains of Chaos, towards the Temple of the Earth Defiant. During their journey, Antiope uses her skills as a ranger to care for her party in the wilderness. Katja and Cinnamon summon six more horses for the rest of her party to travel on. Antiope's mount is Alagonia, which excites her because she was also a fan of The Babysitter Horse as a child.
Antiope and the rest of The Seven come upon a slaughtered village in the mountains, where Penny uncovers a mirror hidden under a bear hide. Through this mirror, they are spotted by a Queen Harpy, who pursues them with her daughters and ether beasts into the mountains.
She and her party begin to do battle with the Harpy Queen, Kurraghran, and their army of harpies and ether beasts as they attempt to reach sanctuary in the Temple of the Earth Defiant. Charging forward on Alagonia, Antiope grounds the Harpy Queen, taking out her wing, ensnaring her in a grappling arrow, and 53 points of damage in a single turn. She is determined to get her friends to this temple.
Stone Temple Pile-Up[]
Antiope and her party begin this episode already engaged in combat with the Harpy Queen, Kurraghran, and various other harpies and ether beasts.
During the battle, Antiope shoots several harpies and ether beasts, killing several enemies. Notably, she marks Kurraghran with Slayers Prey, threatening to eat him herself to his immense surprise. As she shoots the pursuing ether beasts, her bursting arrows release a dark blue light commonly tied to her magic. She is an essential fighter in slaying the beasts pursuing her party, and clears the broken bridge easily on Alagonia. She is very charmed by the statue of Asha Hammerheart (she does have a type).
Antiope and her party eventually reach the Temple of the Earth Defiant and seek sanctuary there.
The Fan[]
Antiope's fan is black with a yin and yang symbol and two dragons on it, most likely as a homage to her favoured enemy.
Trivia[]
- Most of the Joneses are named after Greek mythology. Antiope is named after an Amazon and daughter of Ares.

- Antiope was elected leader of the Seven Maidens in a landslide 6 votes, with the remaining vote stating "I categorically refuse to lead" from Antiope herself.[1]
- Despite having a growth spurt (from 5’8” to 6’1”) while in the palimpsest, Antiope is the second shortest of her siblings.[3]
- Antiope never understood the appeal of Skrank Douglas until one day he noticed the crack on her crystal and offered to fix it, which was just really nice of him. They almost kissed in the A.V. room. ALMOST.[4]
- She became a ranged specialist after years of trolling her four melee-oriented older siblings.
- Antiope’s scent is Cucumber Melon + OFF! Bug Spray.[5]
- She’s "not that kind of Ranger" and occasionally gets tutoring from Danielle Barkstock because she finds nature itchy & off-putting.[5]

- Antiope's bows’ names reference their chronological order. Her current bow, “Eleventh Hour,” has been with her since the Gorgon fight referenced in the Boy's Night one-shot. She just commissioned a new bow with a higher draw weight & plans on naming it “Midnight”[8]
- One night at The Red Waste, The Maidens got drunk and went to a tattoo parlour. Antiope got a lower-back tattoo that says "Leader" with a cursive capital "L," with the remaining letters in a bullet journal font and a little heart next to it. Katja designed the tattoo.
- Much of Antiope's magic manifests as a dark blue
