BINX Choppley is the only survivor of the Court of Craft and a member of the Pack of Pixies.
She attends the Bloom disguised as Gwyndolin Thistle-Hop, a member of the Court of Wonder, to find where their magic has gone.
She is a warlock patron and has three warlocks: Mika, Scratch, and a third who is never named. BINX is played by Surena Marie.
Description[]
Appearance[]
When disguised as Gwyndolin, BINX has bright pink, wavy hair which falls down to their shoulders and a flower-shaped beauty mark which she calls her "berry mark." Gwyndolin's body follows Tinkerbell-type proportions, which is hypothetically cute, but in actuality makes her look weird; her eyes are too big, and her face is too wide. She has one thumb on each hand, but if she wanted to, she could have three. Gwyndolin's magic is very cotton-candy-like and sparkly.
As BINX, she has short, cropped, messy, spiky, black hair, earth-tone moth wings along her back that are decorated with the symbols of lost objects, and golden streaks shaped like branches across her skin. BINX is physically smaller than Gwyndolin and has a deeper voice. BINX's magic is dull and gray and looks almost like cigarette smoke.
In both forms, BINX has the same eyes, by which Andhera recognizes them the first time he sees them in their BINX form.
In The Masquerade Ball, Rue turns them into a golden frog so they can pretend to be a brooch. According to Andhera, they make an excellent frog.
Personality[]
BINX is generally quite friendly, but also sneaky and cheeky. They are also very secretive, having a unmentioned patron relationship with a frazzled Dwarven mother named Mika. She finds the archfey misuse of magic to be uncomfortable, as many people suffer from a lack of magic. BINX's magic is centred around lost things and liminal spaces. They believe that magic is fear, anger, love, and everything.
When they are disguised as Gwyndolin, they feel like they are Gwyndolin. Gwyn's personality is much more bubbly and social, whereas BINX can be more awkward, but both as Gwyn and as BINX, BINX is very blunt.
Outfits[]
As Gwyndolin (standard)[]
Most of the time she wears a ridiculous, blue, flouncy dress with bell sleeves. The dress bobs as she walks, and she has a dandelion leaf flipping out of their hair. They wear the seashell that Andhera gave them as a bracelet.
As Gwyndolin (first meeting with the Seafoam Court)[]
In Seaside Teatime, in order to make a positive impression, she wears a large very fancy hat with a fake anatomically-incorrect stuffed crow crocheted to it, as well as both a train and a cape (which drag a lot of mud). Chirp and Squak think that the look shouldn't work, but it does.
BINX (standard)[]
They wear a dark violet dress. Post-finale, they also wear a brown piece of string tied in a bow around their finger like a ring, tying them to the Pack of Pixies and their open-invitation to the Court of Craft.
BINX (Pre-masquerade)[]
The fey equivalent of a dirty T-shirt and leggings.
BINX (Masquerade)[]
To the masquerade, BINX wears a slinky black velvet dress with a very high slit. It was made from heavy curtains. They adorned their chest with different objects, including toys, lost jewelery, and shards of broken glass. The objects are adhered in a way that makes them look like feathers. She is wearing a hood that is shaped like the ears of an owlbear, and a golden mask made out of keys that looks like a beak. She very quickly removes the mask to deconstruct it and give the magic used to create it to Scratch.
BINX (Amphitheater)[]
BINX wears a capelet with big shoulders, and her golden branch marks are pronounced, like veins of gold. She and Andhera match.
Background[]
Before the rest of the Court of Craft disappeared, her role was to give blankets and hot cocoa to the other members of the court during bedtime. She and her Court used to make fairly frequent trips to the mortal realm, where she would mainly hide people's socks.
BINX is the last surviving member of her court, whose magic was stolen by the Court of Wonder, but BINX survived by creating what she described as a "washing machine" of magic. Technically, BINX is the leader of their court by process of elimination.

Relationships[]
Prince Andhera[]
BINX and Andhera worked together during the Great Hart Hunt, although it was Andhera's co-operation with Chirp which secured him the partial victory. BINX and Andhera referred to eachother as "friends" during this time. Andhera later gifted BINX one of two shells he found on the beach, which she turned into a bracelet. At the Hedge Maze, Andhera saw BINX's true form and recognised them by their eyes. Andhera took no offence or fear to the glamour they'd deceived everyone with, and when Andhera won the Crystal Heart, he passed it over to BINX instead, causing them to dramatically touch hands unglovéd.
BINX left a black apple with the note "thank you for seeing me" at Andhera's door at the exact same time when Andhera was at BINX's door leaving a note. At the confrontation between BINX and Hob at the Tailor's, BINX breaks herself off mid sentence to say hi to Andhera. When she shows Hob who she is, Hob is surprised and Andhera just laughs and said that he already figured it out. Andhera also reveals his true voice at this meeting as he wanted people to know that they weren't the only one putting themselves out there by revealing things, although he recognises that this is the smallest revelation of the meeting. When she gets turned into a frog, he tells them "you make an excellent frog". They then walk out together to give Rue and Hob some privacy.
Andhera's masquerade outfit was made for him by BINX, which BINX claimed was one of the best days she had in a while. She asks him how he was ever lonely in a full court, and Andhera tells them that his mother keeps everyone separate, as sentiment was seen as a weakness and love was seen as scarce. Andhera saw this as fear, which made the court and his mother angry, He would often be described as hysterical within the courts for laughing, and as such she had an elemental shard put in the back of his neck that would make it rain on him if he expressed emotions, with the intent of humiliating him. BINX expresses sympathy for him and tells him she could remove it if he wanted her to. Andhera swears himself as loyal to BINX's cause, and she "knights" him with a cardboard tube.
When Andhera admits he won't be the one to marry Grabalba, Hob attempts to push him towards BINX so they can dance, and, seeing him, Rue does the same to BINX. They both fail, and almost start a fight. Later, BINX and Andhera are seen talking, and BINX splits a black apple with him, which shows him her memories from the Court of Craft in the mortal realm, sitting by a fire and telling jokes. Andhera replies that his happiness up until then was like striking flint in the dark, but in that moment it was a fire. He then takes her on his arm to go talk to the Lords of the Wing about preserving the material plane and the portal to it.
As of The Rule of Sneakery, there is a rumor going around that Prince Andhera has found his love-match in the “average” Lady BINX Choppley, which was started by Squak casting suggestion on someone to scream it at a luncheon. BINX asks Chirp momentarily if its possible that Andhera is in on the Unseelie conspiracy, but quickly forgets this.
Hob and BINX later had a clandestine meeting in the abandoned Tailor’s. Hob complimented BINX's craftsmanship of both the map and Andhera’s attire for the Masquerade. BINX reacts defensively, defending her friendship with Andhera, which hadn't even been mentioned, and Hob replies "Hey listen, I should know about falling in love at the Bloom last night!" The two of them stammer at each other for a bit before Binx and Hob admit their respective love for Andhera and Rue, and both cry. BINX proposes that they murder Apollo and frame Suntar, which Hob happily agrees to, and suggests they get Andhera in on it, after which immediately BINX starts talking about whether Andhera likes her or not. Hob tries to comfort her. He tells her that given Andhera and her stations, it is nowhere near as unlikely for them as it is for him and Rue and impresses upon her that in both love and war, you must not miss your moment to strike.
In Theater of War, Andhera offers all of the Pack of Pixies a position in his court. BINX says she would love to accept, but cannot as if she left her court it would die with her, and offers her own invitation to Andhera to join the Court of Craft in return.
When the two of them and Rue are at the cliff and Hob shows up, Andhera and BINX make up a bad lie that BINX has a thing and Andhera needs to make sure it doesn't get out of hand because it's so wild and messy. BINX grabs Andhera's hand and they run off together. When they're alone, BINX drops his hand, self conscious, and Andhera tries to ask if she's okay, to which she reacts awkwardly.
Andhera tells BINX that he will happily join her court, but would also like to keep his allegiance to his own court, becoming a kind of dual citizen. BINX accepts happily, and Andhera eventually comes to terms with his new identity and allegiances. BINX asks that Andhera allow her to remove his elemental shard, as she doesn't like how it "dampens the fullness of who you are." While he thinks, BINX goes to receive a message from one of the magical blossoms and is poisoned by it (although she doesn't enter the poisoned condition due to her proximity to Andhera), and is then attacked by vines while Andhera watches, horrified. She evades them, but they continue to come.
Andhera removes both ends of the double-bladed scimitar from their place on his back and locks them together to protect BINX. He asks if BINX is feeling okay, and she responds that it's hard to breathe, so Andhera immediately casts Protection from Poison and tells her, "Nothing can happen to you." BINX then takes out her wishbone-shaped crossbow for the first time and responds in kind.
Andhera requests that BINX remove the shard, and she agrees. She spins him around before putting him on his knees and removing the shard. Seeing Suntar as the controller of the shard, she protectively states, "You will not control him." Suntar replies, "HE WAS MINE TO CONTROL." Andhera takes BINX's hand, and the massive storm which he is controlling does not rain on them. They go together to the portal.
During Andhera's duel with Suntar, BINX keeps the crossbow trained on Suntar.
During the Denouement, Andhera comes to find BINX immediately after speaking with Advisor and Hob, addressing her as "My Dear BINX" confidently. She tells him that she heard their Court reaching out to them, to which Andhera reacts happily, and ruminates that she must not have to open her court anymore. BINX reminds Andhera that it's not really a court, but a home, and tells him he is always welcome in it. She tells him she's never been a leader and it frightens her. BINX thanks Andhera for their help and reaches out to the Pack of Pixies using their last token, extending an open invitation to their home in the form of a brown piece of string tied in a bow around their fingers like a ring.
BINX then invites Andhera to come with them to the mortal realm, and Andhera gleefully agrees, offering sympathy for how scary being leader is, but reminds them that they already are a leader, as she led the revolution of their group. He takes a knee in front of them and reminds her of their pledge of fealty to her, promising to be there whenever she is scared for the rest of their combined existence. BINX takes Andhera's hand, kneels so that they are eye to eye, and kisses him. Andhera immediately kisses her back, accidentally forming a late spring cloud that begins to rain.
The two of them stand, and BINX tells Andhera, "We have so much to experience together," before they both walk through the portal together.
Prince Apollo[]
BINX is the last surviving member of the Court of Craft, whose magic was stolen by the Court of Wonder. Hob and BINX have therefore banded together to take down Prince Apollo (and possibly the Court of Wonder) for their misdeeds against both the Court of Craft and the Goblin Court. She doesn't know what his deal is, but she doesn't like it.
The Blue Fairy[]
The Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, also known as Blue, is Gwyndolin's sister. Blue is more popular and respected than Gwyn, but not much is known about their relationship other than that either BINX or the real Gwyndolin used their connections with the mail carriers to change Blue's invitation to the Bloom so that Gwyndolin could go instead, which caused Blue to become very angry and start ripping up Gwyndolin's belongings.
Lady Chirp Featherfowl & Lord Squak Airavis[]
BINX is on relatively friendly terms with both Chirp and Squak. BINX has already been over for tea at the nest. At the Masquerade, Chirp uses her African greys to convince people that BINX doing the Cha-Cha Slide is cool. Binx and Andhera go to speak to Chirp and Squak together, and Andhera asks them to help preserving the portal to the material plane. BINX appeals to Chirp with the information that Chirp often frequents the material plane, causing Chirp to realize that BINX is Gwyndolin. BINX then uses a fog cloud and magic missile to escape. The next day, BINX invited Chirp to her radiator to talk. She tells Chirp that she thinks she is incredible and something about her is very interesting to BINX. BINX reassures Chirp that Gwyn is not dead and definitely fine. They both realise they have motive to keep the portals open, and Chirp confides her relationship with and information she had recieved from Suntar. They agree to work together and call each other friends. BINX then gives Chirp a beetle brooch from Hanavan.
Delloso de la Rue[]
Rue and the real Gwyndolin both work within the Court of Wonder, but have never spoken prior to the Bloom. At the Bloom, Rue and BINX (disguised as Gwyndolin) have an awkward moment of eye contact when they both realize they don't know each other. Rue later approaches BINX and asks them from then on to pretend that they knew each other, and although BINX suggests that they simply get to know each other, Rue insists that they pretend. Later, Rue writes a letter to BINX apologizing for this and offering to be actual friends, after which BINX gifts them with a key, which turns out to be cursed. BINX is the second person to compliment Rue on their true form after Andhera, and BINX later tracks them down to show them her true form. This is when BINX tells Rue the truth about the key and tries to destroy it, which leads to a minor argument. BINX trusts Rue to help them, as they don't think Rue is like the members of the Court of Wonder who destroyed their court. Rue agrees to give BINX their full support.
Rue is BINX's second when talking to Hob at the Tailor's. Before they meet with Hob, BINX tells Rue that she knows about the relationship between them and Hob, and although she thinks not many people know about it, some people are talking. She badly attempts to comfort Rue, which doesn't help but Rue appreciates. Rue tells BINX that they Hob just makes them happy, and they barely know Hob but feel like they understand him well. BINX encourages them to go for it, and offers to help them choose an outfit to look amazing when they see him. When Hob and BINX badmouth the Court of Wonder, Rue knocks over a ventriloquist's dummy in shock but doesn't say anything about it, appreciating his and BINX's feelings about it but feeling protective of their Court.
Rue turns BINX into a golden frog so they can join Rue's conversation with the seafoam court. Later at the Masquerade, seeing Hob attempt to push Andhera towards BINX, Rue tries to help by pushing BINX towards Andhera, although they both fail and almost start a fight.
During the play, BINX and Rue accidentally run into each other at the water's edge. BINX calls Rue her friend and says they have a deep loyalty for them. They have a confused conversation in which BINX tries to tell Rue Hob likes them, while Rue says he has no attraction to them, and thinks that BINX is lying to be nice. Rue asks, upset, if Hob loves them more than his duties. Andhera appears and says yes.
Gwyndolin Thistle-Hop[]
BINX is working together with Gwyn to keep the portals to the Material Plane open and temporarily took Gwyn's identity at the Bloom. In Duel on the Southern Lawn, BINX writes Gwyndolin a letter which is very awkward but not unfriendly. She says she hopes things with Gwyndolin are good. In Of One Mind, Gwyn messages BINX , telling her that "the mirror pool's portal's now sealed" which she seems concerned about, and she asks Binx for advice. She also tells Binx that Scratch is in need of more invocations.
When talking to Chirp, BINX describes Scratch, Mika, and Gwyndolin as their family. According to Surena in Adventuring Party, BINX used to have a crush on Gwyn but it was not reciprocated.
Grandpa Dog[]
BINX met Grandpa Dog while delivering a black apple to Andhera's door. She attempted to "submit" to the Yeth Hound by lying on the floor with it, and then gave him Jerky, which it couldn't eat because of its old man teeth. The dog let them leave the apple, and said "thanks" when she called him cute, which freaked them out.
Major K. P. Hob[]
BINX and Hob are seen promenading around the bloom together, and rumors quickly spread about their relationship. The two seem to be friendly with each other, but Hob is scared off by Rue when attempting to probe for information about them. Hob's superiors, Boil and Blemish, were clearly upset by the visible interaction between them, but somewhat enjoys the rumors.
Hob becomes aware that BINX is not who they seem, having heard BINX's voice change while deep in the forest, and he tells Boil and Blemish as much. Hob uses a Detect Thoughts potion on her to figure out that Gwyndolin is not their true name, and becomes suspicious of her as potentially being a threat to the Goblin nobility.
In Of One Mind, BINX sends a message to Hob asking to meet with him at the abandoned Tailor's in hopes of an alliance to help her find information about the Court of Wonder, and she calls him "cool," which causes his eyes to well up with tears. Despite this, Hob remains worried he might be murdered or framed for a crime, so he requests that they both bring seconds from other courts; Hob brings Andhera, while BINX brings Rue. She tells Rue beforehand that she thinks she and Hob might be twin flames (in a platonic, kindred-spirit kind of way). She also tells Rue she had noticed the relationship between them and Hob. Hob tells BINX about his negative feelings towards the Court of Wonder, so she reveals her true self to him, after which the two of them agree to take down Prince Apollo (and possibly, by extension, the Court of Wonder).
He tells BINX that it is an honor to find "a like mind."
Hob reminds BINX that she is the leader of the court of craft (at which BINX becomes nauseous), and the two of them decide they have to fight for their place at the Bloom, and then they discuss what they know about Apollo and Suntar's plan. BINX proposes that they murder Apollo and frame Suntar, which Hob happily agrees to, and suggests they get Andhera in on it, after which immediately BINX starts talking about whether Andhera likes them or not. Hob tries to comfort her, referring to her as "Ms. Choppley," after which they tell him to call her BINX. He tells her that given Andhera's and her stations, it is nowhere near as unlikely for them as it is for him and Rue. BINX suggests that if Rue joined the Court of Craft, Hob could marry Rue instead and have that be his political alliance. She tells him that she'll do whatever would make him happy, and he replies that he treasures her friendship (but will deny it in front of his superiors if asked). BINX responds that they'll help him deny it.
Mika[]
BINX is the warlock patron of Mika. Mika's life on the material plane and BINX's in Faerie means opportune moments for conversation are rare and often frustrating to both parties. BINX tries to be helpful with what they can provide Mika. Upon contact after previously sending Mika to Message voicemail and replying with a text, they grant the Unseen Servant spell and its own spell slot to Mika. The magic granted by BINX has an emphasis on material components. When talking to Chirp, BINX describes Scratch, Mika, and Gwyndolin as their family.
Scratch[]
Scratch is one of BINX's warlocks, and he is dating Gwyndolin. In Gwyn's message to BINX, she tells her that Scratch sends his love, but needs more invocations, to which BINX responds that he needs more experience before they can give him anything else. BINX speaks to him through their magnifying class in the bathroom at the masquerade, and he tells her they look cool in their outfit before explaining that he's under attack by an Invisible Stalker and needs more spell slots. BINX gives up her mask to give him the craft magic she used to create it, and gives him advice on how to kill it. When talking to Chirp, Binx describes Scratch, Mika, and Gwyndolin as their family.
Scorple[]
Scorple is a salt Goblin who Hob used to track down BINX to tell her that she needed to bring a second to their conversation at the tailor's shop. Hob sent Scorple to track down BINX with the help of the Court of Trickery in order to tell her that she needed to bring a second to their conversation at the tailor's shop.
When he caught up with BINX, she "disguised" them both using weird clothes, giving Scorple a Bucket Hat which he appreciated but he called out that she could just use magic. BINX tells him she only can do small magic, and makes her point by causing the equivalent of $5 to show up in his pocket.
BINX accidentally reveals herself to Scorple by transforming between Gwyn and BINX in front of him. She tried to reason with and then intimidate him, but eventually she just casts sleep on him and puts him in a party bag with a clear plastic window.
Scorple laughs when Hob is shocked at BINX's reveal, as he already knows BINX's true identity.
The Seafoam Court[]
BINX makes friends with Ephendra of the Seafoam Court after complimenting the Bloom to them and offering her share of the praise for it, given that the Court of Wonder is receiving most of it. Ephendra and their friends Alven and Kiri are looking after a human named Wannessa. They pass Wannessa onto Binx temporarily when she shows more knowledge about humans than them.
Wannessa[]
Wannessa is passed over to BINX (disguised as Gwyndolin) by Ephendra, who initially calls her "so weird," which is intended as a compliment but upsets her. BINX does however shows Wannessa a lot of kindness, which causes them to become friends and Wannessa to become protective of BINX. BINX also promises to protect her. BINX orders a tray of chocolate chip muffins for them to share after learning that Wannessa has only been eating trail mix. She becomes surprised when BINX tells her she doesn't have to tell them anything she doesn't want to.
BINX protects Wannessa when the others are being weird and frightening to her, and even threatens them in a deep voice. She also attempts to take a sip to test something Wannessa is about to drink.
Ustain Bolt[]
Hob uses Ustain Bolt to send a letter to BINX, and BINX offers him a leaf with dew on it to cool him down, but he smacks it from her hand.
