Bakur, formerly a high elf known as Athenriel, is a pit fiend mutated by Ankarna to be her servant. After failing to revive his goddess, he was trapped in a ruby that was implanted in Lydia Barkrock's chest for many years before being removed by the Bad Kids. Fabian Seacaster released him from the gem during the final battle, and he is currently reunited with the revived Ankarna.

Description[]
Bakur is a spiny pit fiend that somewhat resembles Gorthalax. His mortal form was an elven face that looks a lot like his descendent, Gilear.
Background[]
Bakur was the right hand man of a dead god and attempted to bring that god back through a ritual in The Red Waste. Although he was trapped in a soul gem, the one that held him had become fractured. Lydia Barkrock and her party members Rana and Cormyr went on a quest to stop Bakur from escaping from the gem. Rana and Cormyr were killed during the fight, but before their deaths they had stabilised the gem somewhat. To stop Bakur from escaping, Lydia plunged the gem into her chest where it remains fixed, with Lydia constantly keeping Bakur contained with her rage. The two are in a constant state of battle, with Lydia's rage constantly hurting Bakur and her body becoming more depleted with the effort.

Sophomore Year[]
The Bad Kids learn about Lydia Barkrock's condition, and the demon in the gem, but do not yet know it is Bakur or what his background is.
Junior Year[]
As the Bad Kids learn more about the rage crystals that manifested in the mall and the murders associated with a dead god, they learn that Bakur was attempting to this god that he once was bound to. After discovering both the dead god's name, Ankarna, and the history of the Armor of Pride, they enter the crystal and learn from Bakur that he was once Athenriel. He tells them of the nature of Ankarna before their corruption. Adaine seals the gem using the power from the curse of the Pride Armor, and it falls from Lydia Barkrock's chest.
Bakur is later freed from his gem, and is able to serve the redeemed Ankarna again.
