Description[]
The Bloodrush field is located adjacent to the main academic buildings at Aguefort. It is approximately 140 feet long. The field is made up of stone tiles with a half-field line in the middle of the field and two scoring zones at either end. During the battle with Coach Daybreak, the dismantled entrance to the Cathedral of Sol sat at one end of the field, and a chest containing a magical orb sat at the other.
Bloodrush is a popular sport in Elmville, comparable to the popularity of American football in a typical, modern-day, American small town. A more detailed description of the sport can be found on the Owlbears page.
History[]
The Beginning Begins[]
On the first day of his freshman year, Fabian Seacaster visits the Bloodrush field to take part in the Bloodrush team tryouts. He performs well, but in the catching exercise, he does no work with the rest of the players on the team to score, and the Owlbears' coach, Coach Daybreak, scolds him for it. When Fabian protests, he is given his second detention slip of the day.
Battle of the Bloodrush Brethren[]
Later on in the school year, as the Bad Kids uncover the Harvestmen's plot to open a hellmouth and incite the apocalypse, they follow the trail back to Aguefort, where Coach Daybreak, a member of the Harvestmen, is preparing to start the ritual. When the Bad Kids arrive to stop him, he summons a hoard of undead Bloodrush players which break through the surface of the field, ruining it completely. The Bad Kids successfully put a stop to his plans and kill him. Ragh Barkrock, a member of the Owlbears, also dies in battle, but Kristen Applebees brings him back to life. The intimidate him into giving up being a bully, and he becomes their close friend from then on.
Fantasy High LIVE in Brooklyn[]
On their way to the theater department, the Bad Kids pass by the new Bloodrush stadium. Ever since its destruction the year before, the school had financed the construction of a brand new stadium. The new Bloodrush coach, Gorthalax the Insatiable, assures Hargis, a member of the oft-neglected theater department, that he's sure that they'll receive the funding they deserve next year.
