Biography |
"It's not about the money, it's about doing what you love. and what I love is Money."
Buckster Cassius "Cash" $ Boyd ("$" pronounced "dollar sign", short for $$$[1]) is an oil tycoon from Dallas, Texas. He is played by Sam Reich.
Description[]
"So I'm playing Buckster $ Boyd. Buckster is a javelina, otherwise known as a skunk pig. He is a Texas oil baron, kind of like a small boar or a miniature boar. I sort of imagine him as like the 1900s version of a lumbersexual. He, like, looks the part of a cowboy, but like has never done any manual labor in his life. He wears a cream colored suit and a cream colored cowboy hat that are both a little too clean, kind of throwing off his cowboy image, and his prized possession that he holds dearly in his hand more often than not is a gold pocket watch that was given to him by his late father, in which is inscribed the words, "Time is money, here's both."" ― Sam Reich
Personality[]
Buckster is extremely rich and tends to spend his money haphazardly, but still insists on "backseat driving" Armond's accountancy. He acts tough, but he is a coward. He is a Gemini. Unlike Squire Brockhollow, he is not interested in pretending he's a good person.
Appearance[]
Buckster is a javelina who wears a cream colored suit and cowboy hat that are always a little too clean. He always carries with him a gold pocket watch, which was gifted to him by his father Boarwell Boyd. It is inscribed with the words, "Time is money, here is both." Sam once described him as "the 1900s version of a lumbersexual" - He dresses the part of a cowboy, but he's never done a day of manual labor in his life, and his too-clean clothes tend to throw off his image.
Background[]
Buckster's father was originally from England but moved to the United States and got into the oil business. Buckster was raised in Dallas, Texas an inherited his father's business. Sometime later, he began doing business with the Brockhollow family, run by William Thornwall Brockhollow, the Squire of Tufting Meadows and an old friend of his father's. He's had prior contact with the Squire's daughter, Constance Brockhollow, though had yet to meet her in person.
After being invited to Squire Badger's 60th birthday party in England in 1905, he travelled back "across the pond" with his accountant, Armond Armadillo, and Daisy D'umpstaire, a self-made woman and criminal from South Carolina, by train to Tufting Meadows. He and Daisy seem to be business partners in some way, and plan to use the party somehow to expand their fortunes.

Trivia[]
- When coming up with Buckster's name, "Boyd" came first, then "Bucky", after Sam's cousin. However, "Bucky Boyd" already existed, so his name was changed to "Buckster". Finally, since he is an unapologetic capitalist, "$" became his middle name/initial. [2]
- His actual middle name is Cassius; he shortened and corrupted it to "Cash", and then to "$".
- His zodiac sign is a Gemini.
