Buddy Bear resembles a hedge of briars in the shape of a snarling saber tooth tiger/panther. Jasmine flowers blossom throughout his body, and he has huge thorns for fangs.

History

Queens on a Quest

Twyla summons Buddy Bear to help the group stop Wallace from escaping them when he tries to bolt into the forest outside of the Hero's Hall. He is able to block Wallace's path, allowing Princess to catch up and hogtie Wallace with his own clothes. A job well done, he flops down at Twyla's feet.

The Time Has Come

In order to enter Thanara's throne room in the Tower of Tombs, the Questing Queens learn they need to find three keys, one of which is in the Hall of Fairy Tapestry. While Princess and Twyla are in the chamber, they find Queen Titania imprisoned within the threads of the forest tapestries on the walls. She tells them that anyone who attempts to life the key will be prevented from acting against Thanara. At this news, Twyla is able to use the vines within the threads of the tapestries to summon Buddy Bear into the room. Being neither a living being nor a dead one, he is able to bypass the curse on the key. So, like cats do, he bats it off the table ending the curse within it.

In the Heart of Death

In the final battle, Twyla is facing off against Zaria Hex. As the Blood Queen stands on a set of stairs on the floating platform that holds Thanara's throne, Twyla summons Buddy Bear to stand right behind the sorceress. With Twyla's help and a purr-turned-hiss, Buddy claws at Hex, causing huge gashes in her back, and pushing her off the steps into the void.

Later on, he is attacked by Thanara's scorpion-taur servant, Alacranos, but is able to survive the brutal attack. Later, when fighting Morgan, Buddy envelops Twyla with a breath of honey and jasmine, magically aiding the fairy. This gives her the advantage she needs to strike Morgan with a killing arrow, ending the battle.

As the Questing Queens ask for their promised boons, Gertrude offers the curse-holding vial she had gotten from Nyruth to Thanara, saying that the goddess deserves the same kindness she was planning on giving the the tiefling sorceress. Thanara rejects the offer, explaining that she is the source of power for the Underworld, and, if she were to leave, every spirit that resided there would be in crumble to dust; every piece of the world falling apart into oblivion. If there was anything with the power to sustain the realm, she would gladly leave, but, unfortunately, there isn't any. Twyla reaches into her bag for the Allblossom seed, and offers it to Thanara. The goddess sputters that it is too great a gift, and, besides, she cannot give the life needed to plant it. Buddy Bear then purrs from behind them, and walks up to Thanara's throne. The magic of the Buddy Bear's creation gives the Allblossom seed enough life to bloom, releasing Thanara from her curse of forever rulership fo the Underworld. In turn, Buddy Bear lives within its center, forever giving life to the once barren Underworld.
