Donal: She came here once back long, long years ago. And she... She shifted us, she did!
Rosamund: Oh, you're the people of this town?
Donal: No!
Rosamund: No?
Donal: She had done turned us into the people of this town! We's the mice of this town!
Rosamund: You're the mice of this town that she turned into the people of this town and now you're mice again but you can talk?
Donal: My cousin Augbert was turned into a man, he was! Somethin' terrible!
Augbert: They were right awful, ma'arm. I was scurrying about lookin' for a bite of cheese, I was, and a lady showin' up as she'd done with a crown and wings and floatin' and that. And she come out to help. There was a giant, you know, like yourself, a human, and she was a nice enough lass and always shared some crumbs for us, and she slept right there in that bed by the fireplace. And one night as it were, this horrifying magical thing happened, and me and Donal, we was out there, and he was faster than me, and me and our cousin Norbert, she took her wand up like this, she did, and she turned us into people!
Rosamund: Oh no.
Donal: It was like we wanted to drive a coach! Made outta a pumpkin! To a ball! And we came back and we remembered everything about it! She made us want to be good servants, and we didn't even understand things like that!
Rosamund: Oh. So-
Donal: It was a whole four and a half hours, it was, of being people! Unnatural like! She does it, you know? She'll see some young lass who wants to win Queen of the Mayfair, and she don't care no difference, and she'll make a donkey a butler, and a mouse a coachman, and- and- and a bucket into a valet! And then there I am a man talking to a man, but I'm a mouse and he's really a bucket!
(Ylfa laughs)
Donal: It'll drive you mad if you think about it! That could be a man!
Timothy: No, what?
Donal: It could! If she wants it. She'll turn you into anything, anything at all.
Rosamund: Can I help you?
Donal: What?
Rosamund: Do you wanna come with us?
Donal: No, please, just don't tell anyone we're here. She hadn't come back.
Rosamund: Oh.
Donal: As long as there's not... Wait a minute. YOU'RE A YOUNG LASSIE!
Timothy: No.
Rosamund: I'm actually 118!
Timothy: What did she look like?
Donal: You're 118? You look great.
Rosamund: Thank you so much.
