Cindy is a very plump, middle-aged Chinese American woman. She wears lots of light floral prints, and slippers. She's a true beam of sunshine. As Abbess, she is in charge of the school, the libraries, the relics, and similar things at the monastery.

During Sofia Lee's last date with her late husband, Dale, Dale asks how Cindy is, as he was also a part of the Order of the Concrete Fist when he was alive.
We Need to Talk About Cody[]
When Sofia returns to the monastery for the first time after the Dream Team's scuffle in the subway, both Solomon Ojukwu and Nadia Chandrasekhar mention that Cindy wishes to speak with her. Cindy introduces her to Tony Simos, who was the First Fist of the monastery in the 80s, before Jackson Wei. She is comforting him, as he'd just returned from San Francisco, where he'd started the Order of the Iron Heart. Their numbers had dwindled over the last few decades, and a recent attack had destroyed their monastery for good, forcing Tony back to New York City.
Sofia tells Cindy about the deep dream beasts she's been reading about, and apologizes for bringing it up with Pete Conlan, the Vox Phantasma, and Esther Sinclair, the Chairwoman of the Gramercy Occult Society, before bringing it to the other monks of the Order. Although Tony is wary of Pete, Cindy understands and trusts Sofia's judgement as First Fist. She agrees to pool resources and offers for the Occult Society members to come study in the safety of the monastery.
