Description[]
Dayne is a human paladin with blonde hair and a stereotypical jock look.
He spends much of the series simply being popular both in sports and in regular school. However, he has shown more intelligence than other jocks at the school like Ragh. He is dating Penelope Everpetal, and his best friend, Ragh Barkrock has a crush on him, though he does not reciprocate.
History[]
The Beginning Begins[]
Dayne makes his first appearance just inside Aguefort Adventuring Academy beside his girlfriend, Penelope Everpetal. They are handing out ballots for students to vote to reinstate Prom King and Queen at the school. He meets Riz Gukgak and asks if Riz plays any bloodrush. Eager to please him, Riz lies and says yes, at which point Dayne's second-in-command, Ragh Barkrock, interrupts to yell that of course he plays, he's the ball! Ragh dunks Riz into a trashcan and threatens anyone who dares call him anything other than "Ball".
Dayne says it's chill, and Ragh apologizes, explaining that it just makes him "wanna go fuckin' nuts, dude" when he sees people mess around with him. Adaine approaches and Penelope offers her a ballot as well. When Penelope suggests Adaine asks less questions, Adaine quietly corrects her grammar. Dayne corrects her a lot louder. Penelope pushes the ballot onto Adaine and tells her she can put her vote in the box outside the assembly. She compliments Adaine's outfit, somewhat sarcastically, and Adaine walks away, suppressing a panic attack.
Later that day, Dayne meets Fabian Seacaster out on the bloodrush field. He's confused because he doesn't know who Fabian is, but he's talking to him like he's important. Fabian introduces himself as Bill Seacaster's son and says he's excited to join the team. He looks to Coach Daybreak, whose jaw is set, and mentions that he does know who that is: the richest guy in town and a pirate. Fabian corrects him, saying his father is not a pirate but a privateer. Ragh tries to mock him for using big words he doesn't know, but Daybreak interjects, saying, rather resentfully, that the national amnesty of Solace forgives Bill's action.
Daybreak starts tryouts with running drills, which Fabian aces. He easily takes Ragh down, who goes into a Rage, claiming Fabian cheated. Dayne and the other players hold him back. Daybreak says he wants to see how he throws, to Dayne's surprise, and he sets up a scrimmage. Instead of passing, though, Fabian dodges between players to run all the way to score by himself. Dayne objects, asking why he didn't pass, and Fabian explains he thought it was a better play. Daybreak tells Fabian to hit the showers, and when no other players follow, Daybreak tells him he's not on the team. Fabian objects, and Daybreak gives him detention, saying he has no heart. Fabian storms off, saying that he doesn't need any of them, and that none of Ragh's jokes were funny. Ragh bursts into tears and Dayne comes to his defense.
In Episode 15, Fabian's house is invaded by Harvestmen and he fights one particular member who eventually cuts out his eye and leaves him for dead. Fabian does end up stabbing the assailant in the hand. We only find out that this Harvestman was Dayne in the next episode Prompocalypse.
In Episode 16, it is revealed he was working with The Harvestmen to bring Kalvaxus back and (presumably) be eternal prom king alongside his girlfriend Penelope. Little is actually known of his backstory or motivation since he was brutally killed by the Bad Kids in the second turn of the final battle.
It is never directly stated, but can be inferred that Dayne was the one who actually killed Zayn Darkshadow and broke stuff in his apartment, since Dayne had a two-handed greatsword as his weapon, worked for the Harvestmen who would want to tie up loose ends, and Riz deduced that Coach Daybreak could not have killed Zayn and hurt Biz at the same time. In addition, Ragh said Coach Daybreak never went to Zayn's apartment.
