Description[]
Deus-Pa'Zuul is a god made out of hundreds of moving metal blades, and when he touches Calorum, it is through this metal. However, the blades are not made of steel from any food stuffs. They exist beyond the cycle of the Bulb and the Hungry One. They do not turn the beings they consume into nutrients for the world, but instead seeks only the complete annihilation of it.
Followers[]
Although Deus-Pa'Zuul is not worshipped the same way other deities are, they often grant visions and abilities to prophets, hoping one will be able to open the gate and let them loose onto Calorum.
Archbishop Camille Colliflour[]
Camille is able to manipulate the Fellowship of Destiny's Architects and the Saprophians to serve out Deus-Pa'Zuul's will. Her plan is the destroy the world through rot to then be consumed by her horrific god. Deep in the Heart of the Saprophus, she is the first to open the gate to Deus-Pa'Zuul, and transforms into its terrifying metallic avatar. Her shoulders rip out of her robes, muscles bulging. She rises to a frightening height, and metal blades shoot out from her fingertips. Where her mouth once was is an 8-foot hole leading into a void of nothingness circumferenced by layers of spiraling, grinding metal teeth. When she lifts her arms, similar voids of metal teeth rise up from ground. During the ensuing battle, resulting in the deaths of several of this frinds, Sir Colin Provolone rushes Deus-Pa'Zuul's Avatar, and in a flurry of wild blows, launches the Avatar into one of its own disposal voids. The metal upon metal grinding causes the blades to break and spark, flames bursting from both disposals, leaving nothing but mangled metal rings.
Bishop Raphaniel Charlock[]
Throughtout his entire life, Raphaniel has had bloody, horrific visions of flesh being torn assunder by metal blades. As he becomes more and more frantic in his journey for religious clarity, he comes to the conclusion that the visions come from a type of blender, the destructive elements of it being a means to an end to create a smoothie of unity among the people of Calorum. However, when Camille Colliflour begins the ritual to bring Deus-Pa'Zuul to the world, he realizes his folly, proclaiming, "What is food if never on is fed when, with strange disposals, even death lies dead?" ". While she offers Raphaniel a place by her side as a servant, telling the now archdeacon that he had always been chosen by Deus-Pa'Zuul, Charlock rejects the offer, refusing to be the god's pawn.
Trivia[]
- Similar to the Bulb being a play off of the lightbulb inside a refridgerator, Deus-Pa'Zuul is a play off of another kitchen appliance: the garbage 'disposal'.
