Doreen was the lunch lady at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy. She was possessed by a corn monster on the first day of school.

Description[]
Doreen is a human warlock. She is a thin, severe-looking woman who smokes (inside the school, while she's preparing lunch). She wears a hairnet that Fig Faeth later turns into a stocking.
When she is possessed by the corn monster, her eyes are a malevolent yellow and sunken deep. In combat, she wields her ladle, wrapped in spell energy pulsing with arcane power.
When she was younger, she was very beautiful and wore her red hair in a large beehive hairdo.
She's very uninterested and generally pessimistic, though mentors Fig on her first day at Aguefort. She relates to her by implying some level of mischief in her youth, guiding her towards the classes, and encouraging her to at least check them out. When she is possessed by the corn monster, however, she does not recall any of this.
History[]
The Beginning Begins[]
Doreen makes her first appearance when Fig Faeth approaches her after the freshman assembly. Fig mentions she came to see Doreen because she feels being a lunch lady is the only honest profession in the school, plus she smokes during school when she's not supposed to, which shows a spirit that Fig admires. She says she wants to take classes with Doreen instead, since she's so true to herself in her job, and Doreen offers to put her to work. She tosses Fig a crowbar, which she drops, and tells her to try opening one of the drums of corn, as she had a hard time opening it since the corner's all dinged up. Fig plays the drums instead.
Doreen is impressed by her talent and encourages her to go to some classes. Fig may not have a lot to learn there, but she could at least see what the bullshit is that they're selling. Fig agrees and leaves with a fond farewell and a promise to come back every day (since they eat lunch in there). While the Bad Kids are in detention, they hear a blood-curdling scream. They run to the cafeteria to find Doreen, her eyes sunken deep, and wielding her ladle crackling with magical energy. She tells them it's time for lunch again. Only this time, it's bad lunch.
Clash of the Corn Cuties[]
As combat starts, Doreen barricades the door of the cafeteria shut with arcane energy. As Fig attacks her, Fig asks why she inspired her if this was her plan all along, but there is no recognition in Doreen's eyes. Doreen flings a ladle full of Tuna Surprise her way, and Fig is knocked unconscious.
Adaine steals her arcane focus, her ladle, and falls prone, and after two attacks from Adaine with the ladle, falls unconscious. As she fails her death saving throws, the sunken aura disappears from her eyes, and she mutters to Adaine, "Don't trust the faculty, it was one of them." With a final, haunting monologue about how she was single and served children pre-prepared meals to children, and that she didn't ask for Adaine to kill her, she did that of her own choices, Doreen passed forth from this mortal coil.
After the Afterlife[]
In order to preserve her memory, Fig takes Doreen's hairnet and turns it into a pair of sick fishnets, though it's only big enough for one leg. Doreen's position is later taken over by Gilear Faeth who becomes the "Lunch Lad."
Prompocalypse Part 2[]
Kristen Applebees goes to heaven (again) and sees Doreen as she was when she was younger. She is described as being very beautiful, with a large red beehive hairdo, and smoking and flirting with a bunch of angels, both male and female. Kristen is surprised to see her looking the way she does, and Doreen tells her "Why would you be old in heaven?" She also tells her to tell Adaine that it wasn't her fault and she was just angry in the moment.
