Down for the Count is the first episode of season 13, Coffin Run.
Intro[]
"Welcome to Transylvania, home to barghests, ghouls, goblins, an impenetrable fog that even the brightest sun rays cannot burn away, and home to your daddy dearest, Count Dracula himself. But, Dracula isn't home right now. He's left you all in charge, as he has gone across the sea to the New World.
Somewhere across the ocean, we see his imposing figure, cloaked in velvet that looks like night, standing over a writing desk, penning an incredibly, vitally important letter for you, Squing. But, things don't go exactly as he plans. As he finishes his letter and hands it to his valet to be taken down to the hotel counter and shipped, we notice that a breeze blows it right out of the letter-carrying bag, and it falls into the gutter, where it mixes and percolates and bastes in all of New York City's filth, before finally being noticed by someone. A small child picks it up, and, instead of placing it in the postbox right next to it, instead tries to use a lighter to see if there's any money inside, accidentally catching about half of it on fire, before realising it is, indeed, empty, and surrendering it to the postbox.
This letter then goes across the ocean in a rat-infested ship, dined on by all the vermin and all the insects you can imagine, before finally making it to the Transylvania post. And, here, a bike messenger is tasked with bringing it to the Gold Crona Inn. Now, the bike ride is a very long one. He stops for a break, and doesn't have any other paper to use. And so, the letter becomes the victim to even more horrible defacement before, finally, somehow, scraps of it make it to the innkeeper, a woman you all know as Granny Dalca. Granny Dalca takes the scraps of the letter, smells her hands, places it carefully upon a tray, along with a small sippy cup of blood and a cookie. Her stooped figure carries it very carefully up the many stairs, and she knocks on your door, Squing."
