Duke Joren Jawbreaker is the head of House Jawbreaker and Liam Wilhelmina's father.

Description[]
Joren has a chin like a cliff, and gets mad easily. He's good at "nature stuff" like his son, Liam, and he was like a hero to King Amethar. He taught Amethar everything he knows about fighting.
He wields a jawbreaker mace called Chinseeker.
Background[]
When he was 14, he witnessed a knight assault a commoner. In retaliation, Joren picked up a mace and pounded the knights head in. In that moment, he made the decision to be okay with such violence and being responsible for death, or else he'd get lost in himself forever.
Joren fought alongside King Amethar during the Ravening War. He made himself a traitor to fight alongside Candia's allies in the Dairy Islands, going against King Jadain's decision not to. Keeping Liam as a hostage ("ward") of Castle Candy allows Joren to keep his land and title as he and House Jawbreaker are not part of the Concord. They remain as a rebel state openly.
History[]
In Liam's introduction, he mentions missing his father, but not his brothers. On their carriage ride to Comida, King Amethar speaks fondly of his uncle. In Comida, Lord Calroy Cruller talks with Liam about his situation at Castle Candy, explaining Joren and House Jawbreaker's position in the politics of Calorum. Captain Annabelle Cheddar also talks briefly with Liam about seeing him fight in the war when she was a young child.
