Description[]
Durinson Mithral Factory is high up, away from light pollution making it a good spot for stargazing. Sitting on the edge of a steep cliff that drops into a quarry, it has tall red brick towers and huge vats of chemical material used to refine mithral, the lightest strongest metal there is.
This insane death trap has two half-pipes, one nestled into the caved in building and the other on the edge of the cliff, it is this half-pipe that becomes part of the pavement golem, known as Crush.
Below the factory is where Gorthalax the Insatiable has been held captive in a ruby for many years.
Background[]
A few years ago, the factory closed, and a lot of Dwarves were laid off. The factory has been abandoned for some time now and so the children of those Dwarves have retrofitted this dilapidated building into a skate park. Johnny Spells found Gorthalax here and sold his soul to him.
History[]
Trivia[]
- The Durinson Mithral Factory, as seen in the DM Screen, was sold as part of the Dimension 20 Fantasy High Freshman Year Auction for $2,910.99
- The name Durinson is a reference to The Lord of the Rings, Durin being the name of a famous dwarven king and the namesake of the clan Durin's Folk who would inhabit Moria.
- Additionally, Gorthalax being trapped beneath the factory is a reference to the balrog in the Mines of Moria. While Gorthalax is a pit fiend, his mini is of a Balor, DnD's equivalent to a balrog, and Torek references the famous "Drums in the deep" line when Gorthalax is released.
