Elias Hodge is the man whose mind the city of Mentopolis is located within.
Description[]
Elias has a scar on his forehead from when a bully attacked him with his sister's stolen ice skates. He used to have a bit of a dandruff issue, until switching to Head and Shoulders.
At the beginning of the series Elias is a self conscious man riddled with self doubt and self loathing. He feels that he's not allowed to be happy until he "becomes successful" and generally favors external validation over internal validation. He is however also incredibly intelligent and quick to act in a crisis situation.
Background[]
As a child, Elias confronted a bully who had stolen his sister's ice skates. In retaliation, the bully had attacked Elias with them, cutting him with their blades. This incident convinced Elias to severely repress his conscience.
Elias Hodge is a scientist who is hoping to be noticed and appreciated by his bosses. He seems to run mostly on logic and ambition and is pushing away the things that make him happy.

- Hodge's surname may come from the Begich Towers, originally named the Hodge Building. It is notable for housing nearly the entire population of the small city of Whittier, Alaska, earning it the nickname of a "town under one roof".
- Though potentially purely coincidental, Elias Hodge's name is an anagram for "he is a lodge" (a lodge being a type of residency, shelter, or other abode. "Lodge" can also refer to a branch or meeting place for a (typically secret or exclusive) organization, such as the Freemasons, and may refer to Mentopolis and perhaps Gobbstopper Industries.)
- By the final episode it's confirmed that Elias posses or has developed an interest in "foot stuff."
