Description[]
Gustavo is the first Concordant Emperor and a citizen of Fructera. His body is that of a purple grape, and, when maintained, he has a dark, pencil mustache. He speaks with a French accent.
Background[]
Gustavo fought alongside King Amethar of House Rocks during the Ravening War (his weapon of choice being the longbow), and they, along with Sir Morris Brie and Manta Ray Jack, became very dear friends. He crafted the Concord, and was chosen to become the first Concordant Emperor. As a result, he had the privilege of placing Calorum's capital, Comida, within Fructera's borders. He served as Emperor and maintained peace throughout Calorum for 20 years.
History[]
A Crown of Candy[]
It was known that Gustavo was ill, but it was originally thought that he had a couple years left. Due to a sudden and steep decline in his health, the selection of a successor was rushed ahead sooner than expected, prompting him to send letters to the rulers of each of the nations of Calorum, including King Amethar of House Rocks. He hand-wrote his letter to Amethar in order to personally request his presence, as he intended to name him as the next Emperor. However, he dies before being able to proclaim this publically.
The Ravening War[]
The death of Count Jacques Tomaté during the Battle of Vinolia causes Gustavo Uvano to be pronounced King of Fructera. After the martyrdom of Princess Citrina of House Rocks on the streets of Vegetania, King Belvedere Cabbage reaches out to King Uvano, and for the first time since the very beginning of the war, the two nations decide to stop fighting right before Vegetania decides to remove itself from the Ravening War entirely.
The former queen of Fructera, Amangeaux Epicée du Peche, comes to Gustavo asking the Uvanos to raise her illegitimate son with their mutual friend, Van Pinnonoir. The boy is a grape like the Uvanos, and, therefore, he will be safe there. Gustavo replies, "This house is open to a wayward child of such esteemed lineage. As long as I draw breath, it will be safe and cared for." In her gratitute, Amangeaux offers all her knowledge to the Uvanos as they continued facing the Ravening War.
Of the battles that he fought, he was personally present at the Battle of Pangranos in Ceresia, giving a rousing speech to the troops on the dawn of the fight, focused on unity between the nations. Previously, Candian princess, Archmage Lazuli, saw a vision indicating that Gustavo was the one who had the power to end the fighting. Her vision came to fruition as Uvano was the one who shot the arrow that killed Imperator Focaccia, ending the war.

Trivia[]
- During the war, Amethar, Brie, and Manta Ray lifted the side of Uvano's tent while he was pooping, and they all saw his penis.
- Gustavo was originally named "Gustavus," but the cast members kept mispronouncing it. As a result several spots of audio within the first few episodes of A Crown of Candy had to be re-dubbed with the new name.
