He is shown to have a fairly good relationship with Ricky Matsui as the two of them talk briefly in Start Spreading the News. Frank comments that he hates the weather during the winter because of the combination of the heat from inside and the cold outdoors and how it makes his metal expand. He seems to wish he could move around and also requests that Ricky bring him a chicken parm from a place nearby, a request which Ricky leaves unfulfilled.
In A New York Wedding, when the party visits the Clinton Hill Chantry, Frank asks Misty for tickets to Midsummer Nights, even though he knows he won't be able to attend as he is attached to a door. She offers to send his information over to some friends who are looking for someone to play the part of Jacob Marley's face in A Christmas Carol. He is extremely excited by this and quotes, "I wear the chains I forged in life", suggesting that he is a fan of the book.
