Trivia

• Galfast Hamhead is a clear analogue for Samwise Gamgee (stronger, more down-to-earth side character with absolute loyalty to Frodo).
• Frodo's analogue is a weak halfling named Drova Longfoot. She needs to be carried out of battle by Galfast, and spends whole turns complaining during battle.
• The halflings were initially included in the battle as a joke - perhaps as halflings were initially called Hobbits in the early editions of DnD before the Tolkien estate sued.
• She is intentionally made very strong (see below) because Samwise was the real hero of LoTR and the only one of the party who was not nobility (even Frodo, Pippin and Merry are land-owning gentry in the Shire and Sam is the only blue-collar character with a real job).
• Galfast Hamhead was given the stats of a Storm Giant according to Brennan Lee Mulligan. 19:18 in the "Reunion with the Cast of Escape From The Bloodkeep Pt. 2".
