Gertie is a tall firbolg whose "eyes take up all of her spectacles".
Background[]
Gertie is the Queen Bee of the Apiarists' Society. She was the sole member until Riz joined to get extra college credit. Her whole junior year at Aguefort is mainly dedicated to tending to bees.

Party Politics[]
She is present at Fabian's party at Seacaster Manor and is one of the last people to leave. She gives Kristen a bumblebee-coloured, apple-shaped honey pot. She offers the Bad Kids her honey, which they all love, except Fabian, who insults it. This upsets her and they get into a fight. She is pushed off and swears vengeance, becoming his second nemesis after Chungledown Bim.
A Very Merry Moonar Yulenear[]
Gertie overhears the party talking about Devil's Nectar and joins their conversation, telling them that it allows you to lie to people who cannot usually be lied to. Kristen, in an effort to get information out of her, grabs her hand and gets very close to her, and becomes distracted by her lips. Gertie admits that she has had a crush on Kristen for a long time, and Kristen says that they should go out some time. Gertie tells Kristen that she has made some Devil's Nectar for some local food trucks. Gertie and Kristen make out as Fabian arrives, and the party hide Fabian. Gertie tells Kristen to have a good holiday and that she would like to hang out in the new year.
Dawn of Justice[]
After flirting with Gertie, Kristen learns that she's only provided Kipperlilly Copperkettle a handful of bottles of devil's honey, but that she ordered more than normal the most recent time, right after holiday break, that she's presumably using it in the food trucks, and that she'd been ordering it even before Lucy Frostblade died. Gertie also calls herself and Kristen "star-crossed" due to Gertie being Fabian's nemesis.
Untapped Rage[]
Fabian approaches Gertie about making peace over their promise of retribution against Fabian. She is very cold to him, so he suggests letting her decide when and where they end the feud, to which Gertie replies "Right here. Right now." They spar and Fabian wins handily, extending an arm to Gertie in peace, which Gertie reluctantly accepts and ends her vow of enmity.

Kristen Applebees[]
Gertie has had a crush on Kristen for a long time. They made out in the cafeteria in A Very Merry Moonar Yulenear. Kristen calls her "bee girl", but does remember her name, although she didn't at the time that they made out.
Fabian Seacaster[]
Gertie dislikes Fabian strongly as they got in a fight at his party when he insulted her honey. She was his second nemesis until Fabian made up with her in an informal duel in the beekeeping area.
Kipperlilly Copperkettle[]
Gertie has trained her bees to spell out Kipperlilly Copperkettle (due to her dislike of Fabian).
Trivia[]
- As a Swarmkeeper Ranger, Gertie’s fighting style is inspired by love of apiculture. She has a sword called Stinger and a shield called Gossamer.
- Prior to their reconciliation, according to the terms of Fabian's bank account, if Fabian were to cash out his balance before leaving school, Gertie would recieve 9 million gold pieces. (originally 18 million, but it would be split between her and Chungledown Bim)
- Gertie is no longer one of Fabian's archnemeses, following an impromptu duel.
