Vercadian Protector Droid: Warning, warning! Return maple cake at once.
[party laughs]
Gunnie: Fuck it, fine!
Lou: I just throw it to him.
Brennan: You see a 12 foot tall Vercadian Protector Droid goes, boop!
Droid: Thank you. Please, enjoy the rest of your time at Uncle B.O.B's Fantanimalland.
Gunnie: Now, I'm not.
[party laughs]
Brennan: As you go, you see the Vercadian droid says, looks at the maple cake and says,
Droid: Would you like to purchase a maple cake?
Gunnie: Yes!
Droid: All right.
Brennan: Sort of just starts fumbling around in a giant-
Gunnie: I can't... I can't- [groans]
Brennan: You see he says,
Droid: That'll be two credits.
Gunnie: I don't have time, I have to go.
[Brennan laughs]
Gunnie: I have to... Can we do this quick?
Droid: Oh, would you like to be escorted out of the park?
Gunnie: Will you escort me out of the park?
Brennan: You see that a bunch of Guernican Art Squad people start firing on you and this Protector Droid throws up this insane shield in front of you. [laser impacts]
Droid: This customer is engaging in a transaction.
Gunnie: Oh, okay. Can we?
Lou: I'm just gonna start slowly walking back being like,
Gunnie: All right, give me one second.
Brennan: Yeah.
Gunnie: It's in my- Keep going? It's in my...
Ally: I'm just dangling.
Gunnie: It's in my pocket, it's in my pocket.
Droid: Absolutely, sir.
Gunnie: One second, keep-
Droid: Would you like frosting?
Gunnie: Yeah, oh definitely. I'm gonna want all the toppings. Come on, come on. [cackles] More bananas, extra bananas.
[Machine whirring]
Gunnie: Oh god dammit, I hate banana.
[Emily laughs hysterically]
Brennan: You literally get to the door of the park with this Vercadian Droid finally like,
Droid: All right, pistachios, extra fudge, bananas-
Gunnie: Yeah.
Droid: Whip cream, vanilla and icing.
Gunnie: Yes, great.
Droid: Thank you. [blips] Approved!
[party laughs]
Brennan: Great. It comes out to like five credits with all the toppings.
Gunnie: It's so expensive and I don't even want... I can't eat pistachios.
Trivia[]
- As with SquirrelCurl's other animation, The Magic of Plug, there are lots of nerdy references and easter eggs in this clip! In approximate order of appearance:
- A Polybius arcade game to the left behind Gunnie
- Another game directly behind him labelled "WHACK A GNOME" in an alien script
- A "shrimp party" poster to the right, with text at the top written in an alien language reading "LIMITED TIME ONLY"
- Several animal plushes in the shop behind the droid, including Boggy the Froggy, a korok, Dimitri, and Terminator 2, and potentially Theodore sitting on the register
- A poster for Mice & Murder to the right of the plush shop
- The prices on display behind Gunnie spell out "BIRTHPLACE OF MYTH" in alpha-numeric code (A=1, B=2, C=3, etc)
- A large banner above the plush shop, written in an alien script, spelling out "AQUATUNESIANS"
- Directional signs that read "AQUARIUM" and "MUSEUM"
- The assailants' guns read "Ceci n'est pas un pistol", French for "This is not a gun"
- Several of the Bad Kids' belongings, from the Arcade Prizes and Fabian's Gifts: the Sword of Shadows; Headphones of Solitude; Skateboard of Sickness; Mithril Snap Bracelet of Protection; the monogrammed leather briefcase; On the Subject of World Religions; Sneakers of Dunking; and the Teddybear of Helpfulness
- Alien script at the bottom of a Loose Duke poster (where he makes the classic Bigfoot pose), reading "HE'S IN THE VENTS"
- Another poster, title unreadable, with the subtitle "MAGICAL TALES OF WHIMSY". At the bottom is a number followed by "PM IOMAR--", presumably a release date
- A cipher "IWERFRY.FDA/5Y3QP7CA" on a subsequent poster as the protector droid continues to walk. Using a Vigenere cipher and the key (hover to reveal) "PORTLAND" reveals the following link: T INYURL.COM/5H3XE7CN
- More movie posters behind Gunnie: one depicting Plug Strutt holding a light saber that says "THE LAST PLUG"
- Another depicting the pig plush from The Magic of Plug crying that says "THE LAST PIGLIN"
- A third depicting a robot holding a thin microphone to its mouth, the top of which says "VIGENERE" in Morse code. The bottom says "INTERSTELLAR SOUNDWAVES" in an alien script
- Basrar's Soda Fountain behind Gunnie as he walks
- A Smaggy Squirrel poster with a cipher on the bottom "Kpk fvb tpzz pa?". Using the Ceasar Cipher shifted 7 letters, it reads "Did you miss it?", presumably referring to the URL seen earlier
- More alien script on a building at the entrance to the park reading "TICKETS"
- A poster for The Unsleeping City
