Description[]
Jace is a half-elf sorcerer. He wears semi-casual attire, has a blond head of hair, and wears a loose red scarf.
He is very chill and friendly (to an almost obnoxious degree) and seems to try and be positive to everyone and in every situation. He is not really a proper teacher because sorcery is an innate ability in people to cast magic, so a he's really just an older adult friend to hang out and talk-shop with for the most part.
History[]
After the Afterlife[]
Jace is first introduced when Vice Principal Goldenhoard calls him and Porter to guard the crime scene in the cafeteria. Upon seeing the bodies and destruction, he screams in shock.
As Riz Gukgak spies on them from his hiding place in the cafeteria, he hears them talk about the incident, and how things were getting started a little earlier than usual that year. Jace casts a divination spell and identifies some divine conjuration magic, possibly fallen angels from the Helionic faith. He wonders why something was able to be summoned, as the school has a ward protecting it from such a thing. Porter makes a comment about how wards are like walls, sometimes things are just strong enough to break through, and Jace tells him that he sounds creepy all the time. He's trying to build a bridge between them, and a little cordiality would help. When Porter makes to join the kids, thinking that it's not right that they're all alone, Jace reminds him that they have each other. Literally, since they've missed the window to find other adventuring parties. Jace leaves to log what he found in the arcane register, and Porter continues to stand guard.
Later, he is approached by Fabian Seacaster, who asks him to keep him updated on the investigation, but nothing comes of this. During this brief encounter, Jace suggests that Fabian has real magic potential, but Fabian shuts him down quickly.
Sophomore Year[]
During the Bad Kids' sophomore year adventure, it is revealed that Ragh Barkrock saw Jace talking with Arianwen and Kalina (presumably) after the battle at prom.
Not All Who Wanda Are Lost[]
At the beginning of the Bad Kids junior year Jace has become the Interim Vice-Principal of the Aguefort Adventuring Academy, because of Gilear's vacation.
Stress Tested[]
Jace is seen trying to stop Principal Grix from capturing students after their mandatory drug testing.
A Very Merry Moonar Yulenear[]
Jace goes out of his way to award Riz an honorary interim staff position and a few silver coins saying that his extracurricular involvement has been essential in running the school without a principal.
Dawn of Justice[]
While investigating Henry Hopclap's connection with principle Grix, Gorgug overhears Jace suddenly appear and start talking to Henry Hopclap about a letter he sent to Jace about Henry's nephew Ruben. Jace admits he didn't read or address all the points in the letter but states "we're monitoring everything and it's all fine". Henry asks to follow up in a meeting to go over all his points, but Jace says he's too busy and he thinks it would be better addressed when Arthur Aguefort gets back at the end of the year. When Henry tries to convey the urgency of some of his concerns Jace misty steps aggressively back to him and insists he has made himself clear and that Henry needs to mind his own business "and let veteran educators do their f---ing job".
Ragenarok (Part 2)[]
Jace, alongside the Rat Grinders and Porter Cliffbreaker, await in the Aguefort Adventuring Academy Gymnasium for the student council president votes so that Kipperlilly Copperkettle can be made acting principal of the school, allowing her to dispel the wards and charms that protect the school grounds, the student body, and the whole town of Elmville. When the Bad Kids arrive with Mazey Phaedra to deposit the votes, the gym is already starting to crumble as the soul of Ankarna is almost ready to be summoned. Jace is bothered in the fight by Mary Ann Skuttle, who tugs on his jacket to tell him that she "[doesn't] feel good".
Midway through the fight, Jace activates his trump card and summons four illusory doubles of himself, effectively quintupling his power (these doubles act independently of Jace and can cast spells, therefore it is assumed that they are all Simulacra). One clone of Jace is soon launched out of the gymnasium (since there was no battle map for "outside" of the gym, Brennan simply hung Jace on his shirt collar to visualise the distance he flew).
The real Jace, however, was soon attacked by Fabian Seacaster, and after being pushed with Fabian's Battle Master manoeuvres, he fell into the lava beneath the gym, burning to death. The three other fake Jaces were attacked and defeated by various assailants, including the Bad Kids and Agent Cuspin Clark, who appears in a manic frenzy after seeing so many illusory doubles. The Jace that was launched out of the gymnasium was arrested by Agent Clark after the fight was over due to Adaine Abernant lying that Jace was actually Hilda Hilda, but after Fig Faeth admits to Agent Clark that she, in fact, was the real Hilda Hilda, Agent Clark throws the fake Jace into the lava and chases after her, killing him.
