Description[]

Kalvaxus is an Adult Red Dragon, Emperor of the Red Waste, Vice-Principal and the De-Facto Principal of The Aguefort Adventuring Academy (in the guise of Vice-Principal Goldenhoard) for most of the Bad Kid's Freshman year. After his death, he is turned by Bill Seacaster into a ship to pillage the Nine Hells.

Background[]

Back when the monarchy ruled Solace, Kalvaxus raided and ended up conquering Solace and ruling over it for many years. During this period, Kalvaxus revived and recruited The Nightmare King (a being far older than even him) as a lieutenant/consigliere to break past any arcane trouble Kalvaxus would have. As a show of devotion, The Nightmare King deposited one cursed coin into Kalvaxus's hoard, which would then spread to the rest. Kalvaxus never really liked The Nightmare King as he "never spoke" and "only ever appeared in dreams where he wouldn't say anything but you would still kinda get what he wanted."

His reign came to an end after the only remaining monarch gathered all her forces and beat Kalvaxus before disbanding the monarchy and starting the first Council of Chosen. All of Kalvaxus's wealth was (supposedly) destroyed except for his flagship "The Harpy" which Pok Gukgak was investigating into. He discovered that The Harpy wasn't destroyed and in fact was simply disguised as "The Cerulean". After Pok figured this out, he was killed by Kalvaxus.

After that battle, (for some reason) Arthur Aguefort was left to choose a punishment for Kalvaxus. He saw fit that Kalvaxus would have to stay by his side as his vice principal for all eternity, which is how he became Goldenhoard.

Kalvaxusprophecy

Shortly after that, the Elven Oracle gave Aguefort a prophecy stating that when: Kalvaxus has his glittering treasure, war befalls the realm, seven maidens once more are chained at the mouth of Kalvaxus's lair and a king and queen are crowned anew that Kalvaxus would break free, the sun would fall from the sky and the world "as we knew it would perish".

He is a libertarian; very socially liberal and fiscally conservative.

Freshman Year[]

Aguefort and Goldenhoard (Kalvaxus) worked at the Academy for many years until Goldenhoard began crafting a conspiracy to break free from his binding. He enlisted The Harvestmen (Coach Daybreak, Johnny Spells, Zayn Darkshadow, Dayne Blayde, Penelope Everpetal, and presumably Alston Hughes) to help him follow the criteria of the prophecy, shortly before enlisting Biz Glitterdew (through his incel-ish manner) and Aelwyn Abernant (through Kalina, the Shadow Cat) separately.

While Aelwyn only ever seemed to be interested in using their team-up as an excuse to "let loose", Kalvaxus suspected that the Shadow Cat (and thus Aelwyn as her follower) had ulterior motives centering around the Nightmare King. However, Kalvaxus always refused these offers in favor of his own conspiracy.

Alston Hughes began working to regain Kalvaxus's mighty wealth through KVX Bank, Dayne & Penelope began trying to convince students to vote for prom king and queen as well as help Johnny Spells trap the seven maidens in palimpsests along with his scheme to poison Arthur Aguefort whilst Coach Daybreak and Zayn Darkshadow began to work together to try and create an act of Perditional Contradoxy (through Kristen Applebees) to hopefully incite a war.

This act of Perditional Contradoxy failed as Ragh Barkrock unknowingly threw the cursed paper towards Doreen and the barrel of creamed corn in the cafeteria which lead The Bad Kids to following this mystery in the first place.

Over time Kalvaxus and The Harvestmen began becoming more aware of The Bad Kids and began being more careful after Penelope cast detect thoughts and knew what The Bad Kids were up to.

The Bad Kids continued following the conspiracy eventually killing Coach Daybreak, while he attempted to create an act of Perditional Contradoxy through a portal to hell in the Cathedral Of Sol. This lead to the demolition of The Harvestmen.

After this fact, Aelwyn, who had previously been involved with convincing Adaine to steal the Watches and Wards book from the library which would allow the hellmouth page to work, erased everyone's mind to cover their tracks if anyone caught them. Penelope, Dayne and Goldenhoard maintained their cover while Aelwyn trapped the last two maidens in their palimpsests, Biz transported them to the AV room to be flown to Kalvaxus's lair and Mr. Hughes began buying new palimpsests from William Seacaster.

This all culminated in Prompocalypse in which every criteria is met and Kalvaxus is let free in the Aguefort gymnasium. The Bad Kids (along with Ragh, Jawbone, Gorthalax the Insatiable and Sklonda Gukgak) still end up beating him and (a newly resurrected) Arthur Aguefort explains that the wording of the prophecy can be manipulated so that: The sun falling can mean Sol the sun god, "his destruction" can mean Kalvaxus being absolutely destroyed, and the world "perishing" can mean the world changing in a big way (Kristen creating a new god).

He was brought back to life after his battle with The Bad Kids to be killed for a second time by the Maidens before being sent to hell and then turned into a literal pirate ship by Bill Seacaster and his zombified flaming crew to scour the nine hells and kill the devil himself.

Sophomore Year[]

In Sophomore Year, Bill Seacaster reveals that he has named the ship "The Goldenrod" after asking Kalvaxus what name would annoy him the most to be called. After the deaths of the devilish Dayne, Daybreak and Penelope, he calls out for his minions. Fig pretends to be 'Francois,' an apparent minion of Kalvaxus, though he is too preoccupied in being un-boated. Gorgug kicks him in the face.

While aboard the Goldenrod, Kristen casts Zone of Truth of truth on him in order to learn about the Nightmare King. Kalvaxus explains his relationship with the Nightmare King, claiming that he was given the Cursed Coin in order to increase his wealth, thus granting Dragon Madness to those who take his wealth, and allowing the Nightmare King to manipulate the dreams of those with his gold (And used to possess the Party)

The Seven[]

Kalvaxus is briefly mentioned by Mordreth as being his master. His skeletal remains later appear on display in In or Out, in the Museum of Questing History, where an outraged Sam Nightingale attempts to destroy them with a Lightning Bolt which is countered by Charity Blythe. His bones are later animated to do a silly dance by Penny Luckstone in the following episode.

In Time & Space, when Danielle is sent through time to an alternate, overgrown, destroyed Bastion City, she speaks with a dead, dracolich form of Kalvaxus. He criticizes her for having no sense of self-identity and complete lack of self-worth as she turns into a mushroom tree.

Skills & Abilities[]

Kalvaxus appears to have the same statistics as a Adult Red Dragon, with possible, though unlikely, changes to alignment.

Quotes[]

"That's a good aspiration for a young woman. You want to be a mushroom, nice, very good." ― Kalvaxus to Danielle

Trivia[]

  • In boat form, he has a solid gold tattoo on his ass by Bill Seacaster reading "My son is a Maximum Legend at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy"
  • His mini was sold as part of the Dimension 20 Fantasy High Freshman Year Auction for $4,001
