Description[]
Grotto[]
Kei Lumennura is a vast grotto with a crystal clear lake. Overlooking the streams in the grotto is a peach, alabaster, and ivory elven villa covered in trellises and ancient trees, like a sweet summer palace. It has large, puffy mushrooms to sit on.
It has bedrooms furnished with 80,000 thread count elven sheets crafted by the elven sheetsmiths of long past. These sheets can put out fires.
It is populated by possibly hundreds of elven youths who play in the stream, eating fruit as they lay on blankets, and dancing around and laughing. One such elf has been dancing in an archway for 300 years. There are also healers on staff, as there should be no disease in Kei Lumennura
Forest Illusion[]
The grotto is hidden with illusion magic. The forests surrounding Kei Lumennura are described being as filled with tall trees with twilight bark that glow deeply in the presence of the setting sun. Visibility in the forest extends wide in all directions, as none of the trees have low branches; their trunks grow straight and tall. Blossoms descend from the heights of the branches far above.
The forest floor is soft with green grass, and kept stately and pristine; there are no mud puddles or piles of leaves, or twigs or brambles anywhere. The forest is home to wildlife such as butterflies, whose feet kiss the falling blossoms and the disappear into motes of light, and deer with eight-pointed antlers that can cry stardust. A somber and solemn reflection of the beauty of the natural world fills the place.
Anti-horny Countermeasures[]
Elves have found that there is brief window of time in their lives, before they reach full maturity, but after the sweet spring of their infancy, when they are just not good to be around. They are gripped by a madness that makes them angry and horny and stupid, so their families banish them to Kei Lumennura, where the adults there just sort of sit on time for the briefest periods of time.
Within Kei Lumennura, the Muse of Sorrow sings a song. It is a melody in a minor chord with plaintive notes that are deep and rich and sorrowful enough to freeze you where you stand with its unearthly beauty. It is a sad, trailing, whisper of a song meant to keep teenagers from being horny. There are also a lot of grapes, possibly for the same purpose, though it's unclear.
Hallariel Seacaster, daughter of Telemaine Lomenelda, was raised at Kei Lumennura, and can confirm that the music does not work and the grapes don't either. The adults are under the impression that the anti-horny countermeasures are working, but in reality they just put a bunch of horny teenagers in a place with very little adult supervision. Telemaine is supposed to keep an eye on things, but he is very unreliable at doing this.
History[]
Kei Lumennura was gifted to Telemaine Lomenelda after he crafted Fandrangor, the Sword of the North Star, for the ancient elven king Thristwin Eversong 3000 years ago.
The Bad Kids arrive in Kei Lumennura after they depart from Leviathan to rescue Adaine Abernant from Calethriel Tower. They observe the forest in its pristine beauty, and a deer that cries stardust passes. Convinced it's the beast the she asked Arthur Aguefort to make her, Fig Faeth takes a fresh clove and lays it on the ground as an offering after initially scaring it away. Telemaine Lomenelda, Fabian Seacaster's maternal grandfather, appears and comments on her "deposit" on the pristine forest floor. Fig argues it's all natural. He introduces himself, and Fabian recognizes him.
He lifts an illusion, and Kei Lumennura is laid out before them. Observing the hundreds of prancing, joyful elves, Fig asks where the grumpy teenagers are, and for a good ten minutes, he struggles to pronounce the words that they say directly to him between their other questions. The Bad Kids and their hirelings stay the night and set out for Calethriel Tower the next day.
After rescuing Adaine and Aelwyn, they return to Kei Lumennura to bring Aelwyn back to health.
