Description[]

The box is made of old wood, and carved with a figure of an ancient polish forest. During the events of The Fall of New York City, the box starts to change, showing a city skyline and Ricky Matsui and Sofia Lee. As the series progresses, more of The Dream Team and skyline appears on the box. This is later revealed that it is the Box adapting to the Antipopuli and Umbral Arcana affecting New York. The change is not a bad thing, but instead being used to not only protect the Box itself, but also the City itself.

This eventually changes, instead showing Smoczmakta on top of an ancient forest.

History[]

The Box was used by Iga's eldest Matriarch. It was used to protect the polish tribe from an army of attacking Visigoths, who had enslaved Smoczmatka and used her as a war machine. The Box trapped her in an extra-dimensional space, where the Lisowskis built a fantasy Polish Castle, trapping Smoczmakta twice over.

Iga moving to New York was exactly aligned with the death of The Great Dragon of Bleecker Street, as no one had ever heard of two dragons in one spot. The box, through Smoczmakta, has a deep connection with both history and stories. When Umbral Arcana starts to attack the Chest, and most of the magic in the city, Smoczmakta's New York Egg (Langston Brown) changed the box to match with the city as a way to protect both the Box and the City itself. This connection with not only stories but also the past made the Box a potent weapon against Null in the same way that Kingston Brown and Pete Conlan, as Vox Populi and Vox Phantasma, are against Null, and an essential part of Nod, the Sixth Borough.
