Description[]
Muffet is an enormous spider. She has a humanlike torso and a spider face, though the chitin is covering her human face. She carries many younger spiders on her abdomen and has curds and whey instead of blood. In her spider form she had the ability to curse Tuffeton and the Lullaby Lands with unending rain.
After being freed from her spider form, Muffet appeared to return to being a young, human girl but with a spider for a head. She wields Spoon as a spellcasting focus. Even after losing much of her power, Muffet still retained the ability to end the rain in Tuffeton and The Lullaby Lands, allowing sunlight to shine through for the first time since The Times of Shadow began.
Background[]
Little Miss Muffet was a lonely girl who often walked to the top of a hill outside of Tuffeton to eat by herself. One day, as she was eating her curds and whey, the spider showed up as it supposed to; but the spider was way bigger than it was supposed to be. In this moment Muffet got the feeling of something being wrong and not knowing why that is. This is where Muffet began to realize that the only things people really know about her is that she is afraid of spiders and that she likes curds and whey, beginning to realize she is a story.
When the Times of Shadow began, seemingly in this moment, Muffet merged with the spider, becoming a monstrous amalgam of her story and a spider from The Endless Nights. Dubbing herself the Spider Queen, Muffet trapped the people of Tuffeton in cocoons to eat, amassed an army of spiders from across the Lullaby Lands, and began gathering magical items in her web in the Tuffeton mines. In her monsterous form, Muffet cursed Tuffeton and the Lullaby Lands with endless rain.
History[]
The Curdled Web[]
When the group arrives in the caves of Tuffeton and are fighting the spiders within, Muffet is first illuminated by Pinocchi-Crow. Pinocchio had cast blue Fairy Fire on his familiar to reveal the monster spiders in the dark. With this reveal, Muffet, in her spider form, descends on the giant web of the room to confront the intruders in her lair.
Origins[]
Little Miss Muffet is left behind in the Lines Between with Aesop, Scheherazade, Sinbad, and Itsy Bitsy Spider after Pinocchio sends Destiny's Children into his book.
The Last Wish[]
After beginning to write the Golden Goose's rhyme in his book, Timothy sees Muffet, the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Old King Cole, and Jack Hubbard-Goose prepping for some kind of battle. Muffet is pictured helping Itsy onto a rain cloud.
The Trials of Baba Yaga[]
Once the Stepmother's true name is put in Tim's book, the previous illustration of the others within is accompanied by pictures of the Destiny's Children going into battle against the Stepmother outside the villiage of Hapley.
