Description[]
Luna appears as a lime green butterfly.
History[]
The Fall of New York City[]
Luna is first visible to Dee as they visit Uncommon Knowledge in search of their teddy bear backpack. They speak with Pete Conlan about how they prefer their nickname over their real name, and Luna flickers into reality. Pete mentions that they can make their own reality and just tell everyone their name is "Dee", and has Luna fly between his hands as Dee and their chaperone leave the store again.
Pete later makes Luna visible to Cody Walsh as he returns home from a midnight raid at Queens Center Mall. He senses that although Cody had left the house not being a part of the Unsleeping City, he was now, as he'd sold his soul in the last 45 minutes. Pete makes Luna appear to gauge his reaction, and Cody asks if Pete is working for Lucifer too.
Parade of Peril[]
While visiting Dreaming as Pete sleeps, Luna helps him determine that a physical visit to the dream realm would greatly benefit Nod's recovery.
Later, at the Macy's Parade, Luna is of great use navigating the aerial environment of escaped parade balloons, unlike Ox who stayed safely on the ground. During the battle, Pete sends Luna over to the Lisowski Chest, where Iga Lisowski and Wally Claus are hiding safely inside. Pete's powers as Vox Phantasma allow Luna to enter the chest through an extra-dimensional space created by the raw Umbra the chest has been consuming. From outside the chest, Ricky Matsui attempts to heal the unconscious Wally with his Lay on Hands ability, and with Luna's assistance from inside it, he is successful.
Trivia[]
- It's possible that Luna is meant to resemble the lime green butterfly mascot of Lunesta, which is a sedative used to treat insomnia.
- The cast is first made aware of Luna's name in Episode 7: Parade of Peril, but due to it's meaning as "moon" in Spanish, they mistake it to be referring to the Woman in the Moon, who was introduced earlier in the episode. Pete's familiar is not the moon.
- The cast seems to have collectively forgotten about Luna's existence, with Siobhan noting, "It was the beginning of the pandemic and we were all going through a really bad time," and Ally seeming to think Luna's name is Tina in Time Quangle episode 3: A Candied Coup.
