Marienne was the Kingdom in which Pib previously lived, as the Master Viceroy and Majordomo to the Marquis of Carabas, in a large marble french inspired building.
In the first timeline, the Kingdom was later destroyed by giants. Pib fled, but its unknown what became of Tomas and his wife.
There is a static-like gap in Pib’s memory regarding what destroyed Marienne in the current world they inhabit, and it is not giants like in his original timeline.
