Description[]
Appearance[]
Matilda is an elderly mole wearing a traditional maid's outfit. Her grey hair is pulled back into a matronly bun, and she wears thick, round "coke bottle" glasses as a result of her terrible eyesight. She is not very strong
Personality[]
Mrs Molesly is incredibly kind and motherly to everyone, but especially Gangie Green. She is very protective of Gangie, and he of her. She would rather that Gangie didn't murder for her, but she accepts his decision and thinks that he is sweet.
History[]
Matilda has been serving the Brockhollow family longer than any of the other servants, having been Squire Badger's nanny as a child, although she has since become a more general head housekeeper. She knows Loam Hill inside and out.
Mrs Molesly took a liking to Gangie Green, and was the only staff member to treat Gangie with kindness despite his frightening appearance. She would often save food for him, and even helped Gangie to steal silverware from the Loam Hall Party. She also dissaproved of all of the other staff for looking down on Gangie for his class, when she knew they were no more highborn than him.
Mrs Molesly was with Squire Badger when he died, and was found standing over the corpse, as Brockhollow had been intending to fire her, which put her under immediate suspicion, The room was a mess, with objects scattered as if by force, while the corpse itself was holding a bloody knife, with an open wound over his heart. Molesly claimed that he did it himself after a bright flash, and she tried to stop him, She also claimed that things were flying around the room, and shaking against the wall.
She was easily manipulated by those telling her that she had done it herself, as she couldn't remember much about it, but Sylvester deduced that Molesly, as an underground creature, had a form of epilepsy which caused her to go catatonic after sudden bright artificial flashes (not including lightening), impairing her memory.
