Mazey Phaedra is the student body president and current acting principal of the Aguefort Adventuring Academy.

Fantasy High: Junior Year

Description[]
Mazey is a lovely young Minotaur Bard. She somewhat resembles a cow from the Scottish Highlands. She has some dangly bracelets and wears big pants with Badidas dance shoes. She is in her senior year.
Personality[]
Mazey is described as "a good egg" who seems to have a respect for rules and order given her involvement in student government, which seems to corroborate her apprehension with partaking of certain drugs such as pirate snuff, and not taking shots during Fabian's party.
History[]
Not All Who Wanda Are Lost[]
The Bad Kids meet Mazey on their first day of Junior Year when they see her set up at a folded table in the entrance hall of the academy, along with Jawbone, trying to get students to sign up for student government. Kristen asks her what the student government is like, and what her positions is, with Mazey saying that she is currently the class president and that so far, it's been exciting. She reveals however because The Bad Kids are juniors, they won't be able to be part of the senior government, and that what is available to them is joining the campaign to run for next year's student body president. Which The Bad Kids, minus Fabian at first, as he thought they were suggesting him, suggest Kristin should do, with her asking if she gets anything like keys to rooms with unlimited stuff with the position, much to the confusion of Mazey.
When Kipperlilly Copperkettle comes to sign up to run for student body president, Mazey tries to explain that her campaign hours will be limited because she has to find a gap in her schedule to do it, only to be taken aback, along with the everyone else there, as Kipperlilly states that won't be necessary as she has already aced her junior year on the first day by finding the rogue professor, as she slides an envelope to Mazey.
After Kipperlilly leaves, her and Fabian talk about dance, with her writing him a note of recommendation for Terpsichore Skullcleaver, one of the bard teachers at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy who's specifically focuses on dance, and who is also the department chair. They also talk about how the students of Aguefort need a new party house, since Jem Peppercorn left, with Fabian nominating Seacaster Manor.
Riz later tries to steal the envelope Kipperlily gave her only to be caught by Jawbone.
Under Pressure[]
Fabian texts Mazey on the first night of junior year asking when the prime season for the first party of the year is. Mazey responds saying it depends on how much of a legend he wants to be. Which when Fabian responds maximum legend, she says Friday night first week. Fabian then tells her to spread the word and that everybody is invited, even the freshman. With her responding "'bout to fuck up your house, king."
Later in the week she calls Fabian to ask if some Hudol kids can come to the party, and concerningly asks Fabian if he's sure when he agrees, as there is a lot of them. When Fabian asks her how many she says that there are 20 she knows of, but that it seems like word of the party had breached containment and had gotten out. Fabian, unbothered, however tells her to "tell all those motherfuckers to bring a friend!"
She texts Fabian, Riz, Kristen, and Fig on the night of the party after Jawbone text them to say that the paperwork for their Presidental campaign came through and they’re good to run, saying: "see you tonight at the party. I have to stay impartial, but… (winky face)."
Mall Madness[]
Mazey was presumably among the crowd of partygoers who were waiting outside the locked doors of Seacastor Manor for the party to start, as the Bad Kids fought against the mages that had been transformed by the rage shatter-stars, being produced from Cassandra, within Synod Mall. After being sent back in time to Seacastor Manor ten seconds before they leapt into the portal to the mall, by Connor Counterspell destroying the astral clock, and creating a time loop/ quangle by shouting advice to their past selves before they jumped into the portal, The Bad kids are greeted by Mazey who is one of the first people to arrive, along with a bunch of seniors at 9:30pm, as they are trying to process what just happened, asking The Bad Kids if "We getting this fucking party started?" to which they answer yes. She then asks where Kristin is as they are supposed to do the shrimp jump. With Fig having disguised herself as Kristin then appearing with the Hangman on the buttered ramp on the roof of the manor, preparing to do the jump.
As Fig preforms the shrimp jump Mazey, along with everyone else in attendance, stares in awe and are almost brough to tears at the sight of the shrimp jump. As the jump is completed people begin to wildly cheer with Ragh then screaming at people to get up on the ramp as he and other partygoers launch themselves from it, after being buttered by Torek, one of whom being Mazey who points at Fabian, screaming "Maximum legend!" before going down the ramp.
Party Politics[]
During the party when all The Bads Kids head up to Fabian's room to try and find details on Lucy Forstblade, and are joined by Ivy Embra. Mazey ends up heading up to the room seemly out of curiosity and also to follow the social pull of where the host of the party is and where other people are gathering.
Entering the room, she asks if the group is having a private hang and getting some cool air, with Kristen responds that they are and says that she would actually love to pick Mazey's brain sometime, possibly during a power lunch at school. Mazey responds that she is not allowed to commit any favoritism among the next presidential elects, but if the meeting is during office hours or school hours, she would be down for it, with Kristen responding she would love that.
Fabian then tells her that they are doing pirate stuff and as ask if she wants a hit, to which Mazey declines. Mazey than says she found a games closet that had Twister and other games in it and asks the group if they want to break out Twister, to which Ivy condescendingly ask "Twister? What, are we in middle school?" Which very much hurts Mazey's feelings. Fig then says she, "would fucking love to play Twister." Which raises Mazey's spirts and makes Ivy a bit off-put by Fig.
While Fig leaves to go get the Twister party started, Mazey stays behind to try and persuade Fabian to join them. Saying that there is a cool variant with breaking dancing moves they could do if he wants to come play. Fabian is indecisive, as he tries to choose between Mazey and Ivy, but with Fig coming back and saying that he does not need to come as there is already a huge line, Fabian decides to stay up in his room with Ivy and do snuff, saying Twister is not really his style. With a condescending Ivy telling Mazey bye as she stays with Fabian.
Turning to leave Mazey lets out a sigh, seemly upset with Fabian's decision, as all the other Bad Kids seeing, Fabain's decision as him obviously trying to start something with Ivy decide to leave, except Kristin who stays to third wheel and try to gain information on Kipperlily's campaign, with Gorgug and Riz quickly saying they join twister. Mazey then tells the group "Lets go!" as she picks up Fig and puts her on her shoulder with Kristen mouthing to Fig to use this opportunity to get an in with the current class president.
The rest of the party goes incredibly well for Mazey with the Twister party being legendary and her opening up and cutting loses in her own way. Ranging from her taking off her windbreaker, to getting more involved with people and jumping in the tauter sauce filled pool with everybody, and preforming incredible dance and acrobatic moves in the variant version of twister they are playing that earn her standing ovations.
As the Party winds down at the end of the night Mazey end up talking to Fig and telling her she rules. Telling her she is about to head out and reveals she's a fan of Fig and the Cig Figs, saying she'll probably listen to "Burn Towns Get Money" ten times like she always doses on her way home.
The two then have a heart-to-heart conversation with Fig telling Mazey about how she is working on a new album and might self-produce it. A move that Mazey fully seems to support saying "Fuck the record labels." She than says she is surprised they never talked about Bard stuff before and reveals to Fig she wants to be in music videos but wants to do Avant Garde stuff and that her family seemly wants her to do something different given that it's hard to make money doing that.
Fig then opens up and tells Mazey she's going through a personal crisis about being a Bard and ask Mazey about where she thinks, as a Bard that, their power comes from. With Mazey saying that she always felt like the fundamental substance of the universe was creation, and that nothing makes sense and that when you break things none of this had to happen, but it's beautiful, and that art is the definition of "this didn't have to happen, but it's beautiful." And that reason Bard magic works is because it's so impractical, and it's so wonderful that it resonates with the universe. Fig then tells her that she loves her talk of creation and that she hears her but feels like the source behind her art is destruction. With Mazey then saying that the forces that created the universe were inherently destructive, and that destruction and creation is the beautiful cycle.
Their conversation is then interrupted by a bloodshot eyed and stoned Max Durden who tries to join in only to be interrupted and taken away by Gorgug. Mazey ends up giving Fig a big hug before she ends up leaving.
Stress Tested[]
Fabian asks Mazey for help with bard classes, inviting everyone from bard class to a dance party at his house. Mazey and Fabian make up after the awkwardness of the party.
Cursed Out[]
Mazey texts Fabian, and they talk at the dance hall vending machine. She thanks them for killing Grix, then reveals that in the event of the death of an Interim Emergency Backup Principal, the student body president would become acting principal. Fabian tells her that he has faith in her, and then invites her round to his house after school based on a theory from Riz that she might be in danger. Mazey comes to his house, shadowed by Fig, and goes to make out with Fabian. Fabian reacts awkwardly, trying to explain that he had invited her over because he thought she was in danger, and Mazey apologises, embarrassed, becoming invisible. Fabian calls Riz, who explains his theory, and Mazey is unsure. She reveals that the Rat Grinders have hated the Bad Kids forever, and also that she has a crush on Fabian, but tells him they can just be friends as she clearly misread the situation. Fabian apologises and asks for a do-over, and she tells him that she trusts him, but also that she wants to make sure he's okay in the house on his own. Fabian opens up to her, and she tells him "even if you weren't maximum legend, I would still want to hang out with you."
A Very Merry Moonar Yulenear[]
Mazey talks to Kristen, telling her that she and the rest of the party are doing a good job. She also reveals that there has only been one applicant for the position of the cleric teacher, Bobby Dawn, and wants to hear Kristen's opinion on this polarising figure. Mazey says that if even a single student is uncomfortable with hiring him, she wouldn't want to do it, and Kristen asks if she can report back to her if he breaks any bylaws. She gives Kristen both the current bylaws and the previous year's bylaws. Later in the episode, Fabian sends her a group selfie, saying that he hopes she is having a great Moonar Yulenear, and that he would love to hang out when he gets back, then gets Fig to destroy his phone and immediately Gorgug to mend it.
Ragenarok (Part 1)[]
Since Mazey has to count the votes for student body president by midnight, she accompanies the Bad Kids to their final fight against Porter, Jace, and the Rat Grinders, with Kristen handcuffing the bag containing all the ballots to her arm. During the fight, the opposing side tries several times to throw the ballots into lava, first with Ruben casting Dominate Person on Mazey, and then with Jace's Bigby's Hand. Both attempts fail.

Fabian Seacaster[]
Mazey has a crush on Fabian. At first, Fabian seems to be choosing Ivy over her, but they make up and she helps him with bard classes. She tries to kiss him, but he tells her he is trying to tell her she might be in danger. She appears to worry about him alone in his house, but trusts him and would choose to hang out with him even if he weren't the cool party guy. He opens up to her about how hard it is being alone.
Fig Faeth[]
Mazey and Fig bond over playing Twister together and talking about being bards, and where their power comes from. Mazey is a fan of Fig and the Cig Figs.
Kristen Applebees[]
Mazey tells Kristen she is doing a good job in her presidential campaign, even though she has to stay impartial. She also talks with Kristen about potentially hiring Bobby Dawn as the new cleric teacher, seeming to really care about the comfort of the cleric students.
