Description[]
He started the series very transphobic and disrespectful of both Pete's identity and his privacy. He was likely a large part of why Pete moved away to New York City.
After being taken to Nod by The Gray Orphan who was seeking to protect Pete, his experiences in Nod over the coming weeks greatly altered his perspective on not only his son but life as a whole.
History[]
Start Spreading the News[]
Mitch is first introduced as he arrives shortly after Pete the Plug at Marta and Yagdash Scrovich's home, where Pete also lives. Or rather, lived; after discovering proof that Pete is a drug dealer, Marta had packed up all his things into boxes while he was out. As Pete attempts to reason with her, she tells him his father is there to see him after six years apart.
Mitch had been searching for Pete for a while, but he'd had a very hard time doing so. He begins to carry Pete's things out as he explains that they'd had to hire a Private Eye in order to find him. He tells Pete that they want him move back upstate with him, but Pete refuses, as he'd be the only trans person there that anyone had ever met.
As Mitch gets antsy about the subject and begins to deadname Pete, Pete's wild magic surges up and forces bubbles out of Mitch's mouth, silencing him. Tons of bubbles continue to pour out of his mouth, going beneath his clothes and surrounding him to lift him up into the air. Pete takes his box back inside as Mitch continues to sails up into the sky and away.
Later, in the dream world, Pete absently wonders where his dad went, and Mitch suddenly appears in the distance, floating by in his bubbles. Whispers assure Pete that he's gone, and he'll never have to worry about Mitch again.
Showdown at the Stock Exchange[]
After Pete dies, he learns that Mitch, whose stage name is Bubbles, has been stuck in a strip club in Nod, the Sixth Borough where clones of himself and he physically must erotically dance. He speaks of having tried every single drug and new, sexual experiences.
He calls Pete by his real name, which makes Pete inclined to rescue him. He reveals that he has learned a lot about weird things and that the changing of names (and genders) is not weird at all. Especially considering he saw a snake who stuck his own head in his ass.
