Mounting Mysteries at Mount Charuk is the fourteenth episode of season 26, Cloudward, Ho!.
Recap[]
Last we left off in "Dimension 20: Cloudward, Ho," our intrepid heroes were deep under the Swirling Sea at the sunken temple of Katur where the enormous multidimensional octopus, Tazgw'agwa, was sealed behind a portal concealed behind the beacons of Zumhadi, ancient tech, stone guardians with the visages of various Chapmans, and along with them, a statue of Comfrey MacLeod. Leaping forward into pitched combat at the bottom of the sea with none other than those cultists of the Eyeless Hand led by Kensington Cosgrove Mordecestershire, our heroes emerged victorious, preventing the last beacon from going out and resealing Tazgw'agwa inside as Torse put his golden heart into the center of the engine aboard your Odan submersible. We come from combat, all of you badly injured, but light once again returning to this undersea realm as we do.
Synopsis[]
In the aftermath of the battle, the crew spends some time to explore the Sunken Temple of Katur. Montgomery speaks with a whale to learn about Kutar's time underwater and the Eyeless hand's activity here. Maxwell goes in investigate Mordecestershire's body and finds that he is still wearing the wing suit. Van tries to communicate with Tazgw'agwa and her Ancestors.
Then they find a hidden office with paperwork explaining Mordecestershire's connection to the Gotch family. Here, Van finds an obsidian mirror where she can more clearly communicate with the Chapman Ancestors.
As they check in with the Zephyr, Wealwell has taken over as captain and tried to cook pasta to a disastrous outcome. When they get back, Van shows her tenticles to Bert and he seems to be into it.
Max tries to get some information out of Wealwell but he has already had some fallen angel martinis. Van tries to intimidate Wealwell with skullduggery. Wealwell threatens to jump off the ship if they keep questioning him. The Nutpugs pin him to the ground and after a while he calms down. Wealwell tells them what he knows about the connection between his father and Mordecestershire. If they find more proof that this connection means that their grandfather was murdered, Wealwell has promised to stand with his brother.
They head into the mountains to search for Comfrey . After a few days, they find the Zephyr 2 and its crew. Comfrey is the first to greet them. She is excited to see Daisuke, Olethra, Van, and even Maxwell. As they share stories and catch up, Monty can't hold back and yells at her. Marya is hiding and listening, as she doesn't have to heart to face Comfrey yet. When Comfrey goes back to the Zephyr 2, the original Zephyr follows to their place in Mount Charuk.
Most of the crew goes to catch up with Sylvio Dufresne and Onion St. Clay. Marya stays behind to meditate (even though, meditation is not real). They enjoy a meal and talk about what has been happening to share information.
Marya and Kocka are working on Torse's heart and repairs. Marya adds the phrase "a worthy heart XOXO Marya" onto the iron heart with hopes that it will help. When Torse awakes, he seems normal. However, when Marya shows him a picture of Ludmila, He seems to be taken over and exclaims "My Queen!"
