The Owlbear is the school mascot for the Aguefort Adventuring Academy and the bloodrush team. The Owlbear is also the source of the "Hoot! Growl!" chant made infamous at Aguefort.

Description[]
The Owlbear is a massive beast with the head, wings, and talons of an owl combined with the body of a bear. The upper half of its body has white feathers and the lower half has brown fur. It has piercing yellow eyes, two pairs of talons, and a massive beak. It is very fast and very strong.
It is described by Kristen Applebees to resemble "the thing that really wants the acorn in Ice Age".
History[]
Midway through the Battle of the Bloodrush Brethren, Coach Daybreak pulls a palimpsest out of his pocket, smashes it on the ground, and releases an actual Owlbear onto the bloodrush field.
The Owlbear immediately flies toward Adaine. She uses Burning Hands on the creature, but it still slashes her with its beak and claws. Gorgug quickly attacks the Owlbear and fully decapitates it.
