Description[]

Appearance[]

Elody carries a massive golden mace in the battle for Jubilee, as well as shining armour. She is a terror to behold on the battlefield.

Personality[]

Despite being a princess, Elody is not content to sit idly by during the times of shadow. She cares about her people, and actively participates in the planning to save Greenleigh, even going so far as to fight for it in battle. She also fought alongside Cole to save Jubilee. She is a magnificent warrior.

When Gerard doesn't show the same commitment to Greenleigh, and wants to hide in the castle walls and have a ball, she starts to show dissapointment with him, but still loves him. However, Gerard ultimately is able to understand that, despite always being with her, Elody ended up being very lonely.

Relationships[]

The Authors[]

When the Authors arrive during the battle in the Canonade, Elody is the first to attack them. Screaming, "I don't like my story!" she repeatedly attacks their inky hand manifestation repeatedly with the mace made from the golden ball of her fairy tale.

Daughters of the Crown[]

Elody is one of the Daughters of the Crown, a group of seven princesses that are determined to end all of existence rather than continue living within the trauma of their stories.

Old King Cole[]

Cole and Elody both fought on the same side to save Jubilee, and he sings her praises to Gerard.

Prince Gerard of Greenleigh[]

Gerard is Elody's husband, however their marriage is not a happy one. They met and began to date when Gerard was a frog, and when they fell in love, Gerard was transformed into a human. They still loved eachother after all the time they were together, but begun having problems when Snowholdwent to war with their kingdom of Greenleigh. Elody became very interested in strategising for the war, whereas Gerard only wanted to hide in the castle and have great balls. Gerard later began to turn back into a frog for reasons eventually implied that the love between them is fading, and Elody disappeared.

When Elody and Gerard reunite in the castle of the Snow Queen, she shows that while she still cares about Gerard and had grieved him in the first world, their relationship remains strained. Later on, Gerard tries and fails to convince his wife that the other Princesses are trying to destroy the entire universe, and, as Destiny's Children are fleeing the castle, Gerard is able to see Snow White and Cinderella comforting her, as they ride away.

During the battle with The Princesses, Gerard pleads with Elody to stop her assault on the Canonade. However, Elody is lost in the dispair, and asks him, "When you look at your destiny and you see that the most important part of your life was something that happened 'to' you, why would you fight to save that?" Gerard then tells her she hasn't had a chance to take control of her story yet, and that their lives going foward don't have to be limited to what traditionally has been written down since "things just don't end." Furthermore, he apololgizes for making her feel alone, and tells her that he would still be her friend, even though he knows she doesn't love him anymore. The weight of their story off of her, she is convinced to abandon the Princesses, and join his side.

The battle, ultimately won in the Destiny's Children's favor, comes at a cost, with Elody being knocked out, and Gerard full on dying. However, death has no permanance in the nature of stories, continuing to be spread even with their endings. So, being carried by the new incarnation of death, Gerard is able to tell his wife that he knew she was trying to protect him in the fight, and wants to give her something to help protect her in her next story since he has spent too much time relying on her to take care of him. He gives her the Sword of Veritas in order to help her tell her own story. She takes the sword, and tells Gerard she does, in fact, love him. He tells her he loves her back, and the Sword of Truth glows. The two then ride the wolf of death into the shadows.
