Description[]
Background[]
He and Kingston are good friends from back in the day, as Rabbi Mike had assisted in dealing with the Mummy of the Met.
History[]
Of Rats & Dragons[]
Rabbi Mike is first introduced when Kingston travels to Williamsburg with the intention of asking Willy about the Vox Populi that came before him. However, he found Willy in a state of deanimation with one of the Hebrew letters on the roof of his mouth, which together spell "emet", meaning truth, erased, instead spelling "met", meaning dead. Kingston travels to Crown Heights, seeking the help of his old friend.
When Kingston explains the situation, Rabbi Mike hurriedly grabs a chisel and they start on their way back to Willy's apartment. He explains Willy's past, and that he's not a true golem, as he has a soul and used to be a human man. Once they arrive, Rabbi Mike chisels in the last letter, and Willy comes back to life.
Trivia[]
- Dimension 20 consulted with Rabbi Shais Rishon on the representation of Rabbi Mike. [2]
- Rabbi Mike was originally conceived as Kingston's cousin, hence the young age, but he eventually evolved into being Kingston's colleague. The two ideas meshed and created a touch of unintended contradiction about about his age.[3] Brennan later addressed this confusion with confirmation that Rabbi Mike is about 10 years younger than Kingston.[4]
