Description[]

Rapunzel is a beautiful young woman with incredibly long hair that seems to move of its own accord. She can manipulate it like tentacles, and also seems to have a sentience of its own. She's a good cook, and is the type to "get everything done." She is described as a diplomat with a performative personality (meaning she seems rather fake). Her stats are based off of the roper monster.

History[]

For her entire life, a witch trapped Rapunzel in a tower, making her very lonely. During that time, she spent all of her time trying to figure out what she would need to do when she was finally able to meet someone else and talk to them. So she decided to be charming.

Later on, in exchange for a golden bridle, the sea witch reveals to Destiny's Children why Baba Yaga rejected the plea to join the side of the Princesses against the Fairies in the coming war. Rapunzel, despite being uncomfortable around witches, had had a meeting with the Baba Yaga for help. In this conversation, Baba Yaga swore to snatch the tongue out of Rapunzel's mouth if she ever told a lie. After Rapunzel's imploring speech, Baba Yaga She then asked the princess, "If instead of threatening based on whether you uttered a lie, I had instead conditioned my statement on you telling the truth, would I now hold your tongue in my hand?" With that, Rapunzel curtseyed, and left without speaking, meaning that she wasn't being entirely truthful.

Daughters of the Crown[]

When Destiny's Children arrive in Snowhold, Rapunzel greets the team with an offer of tea which her hair retrieves. The group is rather uneasy around her as it seems that Rapunzel is using her hair to spy on them.

Leap of Faith[]

Before the team leaves for the Land of Giants, Rapunzel's hair is seen making dinner in the kitchen. Mother Timothy Goose meets her there, trying to suss out whether she's okay with the Princesses' plan for destroying their stories under the guise of making shortbread. Rapunzel explains that, if things get bad, she's the type to just go with the punches , and make the best of it. However, if someone ruins something, she has to analyze whether they did it on purpose or not, and to confront them about it. She does say she's willing to give people second chances, though, reassuring Tim that she's not involved in Snow White and Cinderella's big plan. As Tim and Rapunzel chat, Tim suggests that she be "less nice" ie not as charming in order to make her seem more sincere, and, when he asks, she replies she thinks Tim is "lovely," though there is a hint of malice behind it. She then asks him to set the table. Before he leaves, though, Rapunzel tells him that her feelings, telling him that, while she knows he didn't mean to be mean; that everyone has trouble letting their guard down. She then apologizes for any time that she made Tim feel uncomfortable without realizing it. She then asks him to be patient with her akwardness, and asks them to be friends, to which he accepts and they embrace in a very hair-filled hug.

Later on when the group is fleeing the castle, Rapunzel uses her hair to try and close the portcullis, but they manage to escape it. Tim sends her a message that they are leaving to go to find a better option. Rapunzel replies, "I'm gonna choke the life out of you, you simpering old fool." As they have stopped to rest, Timothy checks his book, and finds it to be blank, smelling of shampoo. It's then that they realize that, during his hug with Rapunzel, she had stolen his magical book without him realizing.

The Trials of Baba Yaga[]

While Gerard is carrying out his chore for Baba Yaga, Rapunzel appears as a reflection in a lake. She says she has been spying on him, as he is one of the less magical of his companions, and tries to gode the frog prince into admitting his cowardice and lack of value as a person. She then challenges Gerard to ask his sword of truth if his wife, Elody, still loves him. The sword replies that the princess, "Cares for [him] deeply," to which Rapunzel laughs that that's not quite the same thing. She then adds that it may be that her relationship with Gerard may have been more an act of charity than love. The wind ripples across the water, and Rapunzel's reflection is gone. Later on, when Destiny's Children arrive with Baba Yaga in the Lines Between, they find that Rapunzel, along with the rest of the Daughters of the Crown, have already arrived.

The Ending of All Things (Part 1)[]

During the battle in the Canonade, Rapunzel uses her hair to entrap and hurt the Destiny's Children, including Gerard. When he is able to break free, having previously had a heart-to-heart with his wife, he yells at Rapunzel, "You said I didn't have any friends," referring to their conversation at Baba Yaga's. "But my wife is my friend now," and eats her, Rapunzul screaming to Elody about how could she possibly like a frog like Gerard as she's being consumed.
