Rebecca Nightingale (formerly Rebecca Everpetal) is the mother of Penelope Everpetal and current guardian of Sam Nightingale.

Description[]
Rebecca is a middle-aged woman described as looking "very upper middle class" due to her quilted pencil skirt and jacket.
She has fillers in her face due to the pressure of being married to an elven man who does not age.
Background[]
Rebecca was Penelope Everpetal's human parent, and married to Gideon Everpetal. After Penelope's betrayal and death, her name is not mentioned in their house. After their daughter's death, she and Gideon went to counselling and he began cheating on her with his assistant.
Some time after Sam Nightingale's biological mother abandoned her, Rebecca and Gideon took her into their home. She considers Sam to be a second daughter, and usually calls her "Sweetie".

Sam runs into Rebecca in the kitchen, along with several packed boxes in the corner. She asks her adoptive daughter to sit down, then tearfully explains that counselling is not working for her and her husband. He had recently called her to inform her that he wanted a divorce and that she should leave the house to make the process easier. She explains that she will be staying in her sister's apartment for a while, but has arranged for meals to be sent to Sam while she's away, and that she will always be available to call. When Sam questions where her (soon to be ex) husband is, she tells her that Gideon is staying in Fallinel with his blonde assistant (who recently got her butt done). When Sam expresses distress at being left in the house alone, she tells her that her sister's apartment is a long commute from Aguefort, but if Sam doesn't want to be alone she understands and the two of them can share her sister's couch if needed. She also mentions receiving a distasteful call from Sam's biological mother, but blocks the woman at her daughter's request, telling Sam "we don't need selfish people in our lives Sweetie".
She and Sam then set fire to a lot of Gideon's stuff.
Time & Space[]
Rebecca appears in Sam's vision, talking to her sister about her adoptive daughter. Clearly emotional, she tells her sister how special Sam is and how strong she is to withstand everything she's been through.
I Fucking Love You[]
Rebecca and her sister appear at Aguefort Adventuring Academy for Sam's graduation. Sam introduces her to Karl Cleaver in an attempt to get them together, and Rebecca introduces herself as Rebecca Nightingale, having taken Sam's last name to replace her now ex-husband's. Karl offers her and Sam a place to live in his guest house, and while Sam's suggestion spell "date" seems to go over Karl's head, it doesn't seem like the two needed it anyways.
