The Kingdom of Reverie was a once prospering kingdom, home to Princess Rosamund du Prix and ruled by her parents.

When the princess was born, the king and queen invited three of the four fairies to bless her, but the fourth, angry at being uninvited, cursed the princess to die on her eighteenth birthday from a prick of a spinning wheel. The third fairy modified the curse so that the princess would instead fall into a deep sleep for a hundred years, awakened only by true love's first kiss. Despite the royal couple's efforts to destroy all spinning wheels, the curse came to pass when the princess pricked her finger. She and the entire kingdom fell into slumber, surrounded by thorns. A century later, the princess awakes, trapped and in pain from briars that had grown from her sleeping form.
