Description[]

Behind his classy demeanor, Robert is an ancient Lich and a rich, powerful businessman who built the highways of New York and is responsible for the Highway Hex (the reason magical New York is sequestered from the rest of the world). He is almost always accompanied by his vampire lackeys.

Background[]

Robert Moses is a fictionalized version of the famous New York politician and civic planner of the same name, who died in 1981. Before his death, a tell-all biography described the real Moses as a man whose rise to prominence was marked by ruthless power acquisition, racism, and classism.

History[]

A New York Wedding[]

Robert Moses is first seen when Pete approaches the table to sell drugs. Robert buys some drugs and takes an immediate interest in Pete. He also seems to know about the incident with Pete's dad. We learn that Kugrash recognizes him from his previous life and something to do with Gabriela.

We Need to Talk About Pete[]

Robert is mentioned in Kugrash's financial records. He is part of an old money financial group called "O’Neil, Dwyer, Burns, and Moses." Later, Pete is approached by Robert and they talk about Kingston. Pete and Robert go back to Robert's club where he tricks Pete into looking at a mirror. Nod appears and Robert rips them out of the mirror using a blood whip from his arm. Robert is blown back as Pete jumps on Nod to protect them.

Subway Skirmish[]

Robert is connected to Pete subconsciously. We hear him mocking Kingston as Pete visits Kingston's memories. We also learn that Robert Moses has been an intermediary between Don Confetti (who Mario runs for) and Isabella Infierno.

Panic at the Art Show[]

Isabella mentions that she is going to marry Robert not Dale.

Home for the Holidays[]

Robert approaches Misty at her party and tries to cut a deal with her where she and the rest of the Dream Team stop resisting him. When she refuses, he places her mirror on stage, summoning Titania during the finale, leading to Misty becoming Queen and reforming as Rowan Berry.

Faeries and Feces[]

Robert approaches Kingston at the Met and attempts to make a similar deal with him as he attempted to make with Misty. He offers to spare the rest of the Dream Team if they leave even though he knows Kingston won't leave New York. Kingston smacks Robert, and Robert leaves him with a threat about Liz.

Showdown at the Stock Exchange[]

The Dream Team confronts Robert Moses at the New York Stock Exchange and attempt to stop his ritual to open the Golden Door and let the American Dream through. They ultimately fail to stop him from completing the ritual, but kill Robert in the process.

Hall of Heroes[]

It is revealed that Robert put the mirror on stage during Misty's performance as part of a deal with Faerie. We also learn that his phylactery is likely part of a time stone, and will be part of the Times Square Ball Drop for New Year's Eve.

Times Squaremageddon Pt. 2[]

As Kugrash ascends to cosmic awareness after consuming the Bagel of All Things, Robert is utterly bewildered. Kugrash bites him a few times out of spite, then recites the incantation needed to destroy his phylactery; this wipes Robert's soul out of existence, preventing him from manifesting again and killing him for good.

Trivia[]

  • As mentioned above, Robert Moses was a real figure within the history of New York; he was a public official and power-broker.
  • His mini was sold as part of the Dimension 20 The Unsleeping City Auction for $901
