The Roman Emperor Busts are a collection of stone busts in the Library at Loam Hall depicting five different Roman emperors.

Mice & Murder

Description[]

The busts are made of stone and depict five different Roman emperors: Barkus Aurelius; Pawdius the Peaceful; Growlius Caesar the Great; Pawgustus the Wise; and Rompie the Brave. All five emperors are dogs, and each bust is dated with each emperor's respective reign.

Barkus Aurelius[]

The bust of Barkus Aurelius was originally found in the Study when Squire William Thornwall Brockhollow was killed. It is covered in a yellow parchment dust, unlike the rest of the dust in the room, which is black and sooty from the fireplace in the adjoining Drawing Room, indicating that it did not belong there.

The date on this bust is incorrect because the base of the statue has been replaced with plaster. Inside the statue has been placed a complex, powerful, electromagnetic device.

Names[]

  • Barkus Aurelius
  • Growlius Caesar the Great
  • Pawdius the Peaceful
  • Pawgustus the Wise
  • Rompie the Brave

History[]

A Time for Clues[]

After the death of the Squire, the Detective Sylvester Cross investigates the Study for clues. He spots the bust on the desk and notices that it is covered in a different type of dust than the rest of the room is.

Also in the room, Vicar Ian Prescott notices that the date on the bust is wrong.

The Stabber of the Evening[]

In the Séance Room, Vicar Ian brings the incorrect date to the attention of the rest of the Sylvan Sleuths and speculates that it may be a code.

The Eye of the Storm[]
