Rumble Road, also known as Street Race to the Death,[1] is the fourth episode of season 1, Fantasy High.
The Bad Kids, having stolen a letter, a crystal, and a car from Johnny Spells, take off on a high-speed battle against the tiefling greaser and his gang of dancing bikers.

"Last we left our heroes, they were speeding down the highway in a stolen hot rod-- so fuckin' rad. As you guys leap into the car and peel off, you guys see that the tiefling greasers rush to their motorcycles. You have a few seconds as Fig peels out of the garage parking lot."
Synopsis[]
The episode begins with the Bad Kids speeding down the highway in Johnny Spells's hot rod, being chased by the tiefling biker gang. Fig is driving, Adaine is in the passenger seat, Kristen and Riz are in the middle row, and Fabian and Gorgug are farthest in the back.
Johnny is the first to act, successfully putting Riz under a Suggestion spell and telling him to pull the car over. Fabian acts next, shooting Tony Tenari with his crossbow. Gorgug goes into a rage and attacks Johnny Spells's motorcycle, doing minimal damage. Riz, still under Johnny's Suggestion spell, tries to convince Fig to pull the car over; she turns the radio up and ignores him. Adaine uses Identify to examine the stolen, shattered crystal. The spell confirms that it is a palimpsest - a dream crystal that has had any restrictions or identifying information scraped away. She also senses that a person is trapped inside the palimpsest.
Fig, approaching an intersection, decides to maintain the speed of the car but lay on the horn to warn other drivers. She also casts Sleep on Johnny Spells's Gang. Tony Tenari and Billy Hellmouth fall asleep and fly off the road, killing Tony. Finally, Fig looks in the rear-view window, winks at Fabian, and gives him Bardic Inspiration. The bikers attempt to retaliate, but only one manages to get a hit on Fabian, poisoning him. Another biker throws a Molotov cocktail at the car, causing the entire party to take fire damage. Kristen casts Bane on Johnny Spells, Bruno Lake-O-Fire, and another member of the gang. Adaine uses one of her divination rolls gained from her Portent ability and forces Johnny to be affected by Kristen's spell.
As The Bad Kids and the biker gang approach the intersection, a halfling family on their way to get ice cream pulls into the intersection. Fig swerves to miss the car. All of the tieflings avoid the car except for Billy Hellmouth, who slams into the car, flips off of his bike, and lands on the back of Johnny's hot rod.
As Johnny's Suggestion spell fades on Riz, he attempts to use the same spell on Fig; however, she resists it and keeps driving. Fabian tries to hit Billy but misses. Gorgug attempts to take a swing at Billy and Riz tries to shoot him in the dick, but both attacks miss. Adaine, using her high divination roll, casts Ray of Sickness on Johnny and poisons him. Fig continues to cruise and lay on the horn. She casts Vicious Mockery on Billy and gives Gorgug Bardic Inspiration. Billy attacks and hits Gorgug. Two tieflings try to attack Fabian and miss. Another biker hits Gorgug and poisons him. Kristen casts Bless on Fig, Gorgug and Riz.
As the fight veers down a steep curve in the road, Fig continues her streak of successful driving and lights up a clove in celebration. Johnny Spells attacks Adaine using acid magic. Fabian stabs Billy through the head, skewering and killing him. Gorgug takes a successful swing at Hot Hands O'Malley. Riz shoots Hot Hands with his gun, sending him off the road and instantly killing him. Adaine attempts to cast Witch Bolt on Johnny Spells but accidentally hits the hot rod instead, breaking something in the engine. Fig decides to floor it onto the highway. Scorching Ray flips onto the hood of the hot rod and hits Fig in the head. One of the other bikers tries to shoot at Adaine and misses. Another successfully hits Fabian. Kristen hits Barry Barbazu with her staff.
Now on the highway, Johnny Spells and his gang start attacking not only The Bad Kids but also the car itself. Johnny tries to hit the hot rod and misses. Fabian attacks Scorching Ray with his crossbow and badly injures him. Gorgug attacks Johnny Spells with his handaxe, hitting him in the chest. Riz shoots Johnny Spells using Fury of the Small to do extra damage. Adaine uses Mage Hand to throw dust in Johnny Spells's face.
Fig realizes that they don't have much time before the engine of the car gives out. She tries to bust a sick U-Turn on the highway to knock Ray off the car and start driving straight at Johnny. Unfortunately, she fails miserably, the car fully fishtails, and Fig casts Healing Word on Adaine as the car starts to flip.
When the car tumbles across the road over and over again, finally landing upside down, everyone in the party takes damage. Scorching Ray gets crushed under the car and killed. Fabian leaps gracefully out of the car, ready to fight. As the bikers approach the flipped car, Fabian takes a swing at Barry, killing him. Kristen crawls out from under the car and uses Preserve Life and Healing Word to heal Fabian, Adaine, and herself.
Johnny Spells makes a failed Eldritch Blast on Fabian and starts gunning his motorcycle straight for Fabian. Fabian uses Action Surge to fire his crossbow twice on Johnny. The first attack is a critical failure, but, hearing his father's voice in his ear, he uses the second shot to hit and kill Johnny Spells. Gorgug gets out from underneath the car, takes a reckless attack, and kills Bruno.
The Bad Kids, unsure about the state of the engine, run away from the car in case the engine explodes. Gorgug and Fabian lose their poisoned condition. Fig plays a Song of Rest. Fabian gets onto Johnny Spells's motorcycle and becomes its new owner.
The party investigates the body of Johnny Spells, looking for any clues or information. They discover that Johnny Spells was a warlock and find his warlock's phylactery - the source of his warlock's connection to his patron - which is a switchblade. They also find a burner crystal still in its packaging and a little black book. The book has a day planner with something called "Tea Time" scheduled once a month. Johnny has also written the names and numbers of Sam Nightingale, Johnny's newly missing girlfriend, and Penny Luckstone, Riz's missing babysitter. When Riz sees Penny's name, he throws up.
The party takes the switchblade, the burner crystal, and the little black book. The family of halflings from the earlier intersection stops on the road next to the Bad Kids and offers them a ride into town. The group accepts and convinces the family to take them to get ice cream.
