Neverafter

Description[]

Scheherazade is a beautiful human woman with a sword as well as a book and quill. Her book is magical similarly to Mother Timothy Goose's book. However, rather than being able to suck people into it, her book can open doors between worlds.

Background[]

Scheherazade was gifted her book and told to seek out someone named Aesop. She traveled to a cave with Sinbad atop his bird, Roc, to speak with a "spider guardian"; the cave collapsed once she and Sinbad entered and the guardian was not present. While trapped, Scheherazade wrote into her book daily, hoping that someone else would be able to read her words and help her.

History[]

The Trials of Baba Yaga[]

When Destiny's Children arrive with Baba Yaga in the Lines Between, they find that Scheherazade, along with the rest of the Daughters of the Crown, have already arrived.

The Ending of All Things (Part 1)[]

Having magically been coerced into fighting with the Princesses, Scheherazade spends the beginning of the battle supporting Snow White's magic against the ink. When Timothy Goose is able to reach her, he tries to break her from the enchantment. While he fails, the Baba Yaga slaps her in the face, and is able to break the spell controlling her. However, Cinderella is able to knock her into unconsciousness, and steals her magical book from her.

The Ending of All Things (Part 2)[]

Once Gerard is able to reach her, he is able to revive Scheherazade with a goodberry. Back to consciousness, she is able to explain to Timothy the nature of Snow White's spell on the ink. She was actively holding onto it, and the amount of spell that she was able to cast into it is still present. Therefore, they could focus on undoing Snow White's damage, or focus Tim's spellcasting on Destiny's Children's goals, which might cause both of the spells to happen. Knowing the danger of Snow White's spell, Tim tells her that they have to stop Snow White's spell from coming to fruition. In the meantime, combined with a grapple from the Baba Yaga, Ylfa is able to grab Sheherazade's magic book back, and throws it to its rightful owner. Scheherazade then sets to work undoing the spell that Snow White had placed on the Canonade ink. She also opens a door to the Land of Birds and Beasts, calling for Aesop to help them in the battle. Despite it hurting them, the two storytellers work on using their books to undo the princess' spell.

Soon after, Timothy releases his spell in the inkwell to give the story characters their autonomy from the Authors. He then goes over to Scheherazade telling her that, while they know how to write stories, the real work is about to start since no one's story has "The End" written on it any more, and people like them are going to be needed to help everyone through the fear of that uncertainty. Scheherazade replies, "We just risked it all; everything for the freedom to write our own story. What could be more terrifying than that? I wouldn't have it any other way." After telling Tim how she'll "see [him] in the stories," she falls into the pages of her own book.

Trivia[]

  • The spell that the Daughters of the Crown cast on Scheherazade before the battle in the Canonade is Geas.
