Scramble to the Ramble is the fifth episode of season 6, Pirates of Leviathan.
Recap[]
Last we left off our incredible heroes. They had a night to remember at The Gold Gardens. After having thwarted a dastardly ritual and being engaged in by a dreadful conspiracy of the storm druid Alamaria with Monsieur Sheffield-Harrington of the Crescent Moon Trading Company and the treacherous Clive McDoon, or as he is now known, Lieutenant Clive Mardres, who were attempting to use the soul-devoid but still living bodies of these captured tieflings to summon a lesser devil and thus lure and pull in the archdevil master of that lesser devil into their dastardly plot to destroy the city of Leviathan and recoup some hefty insurance policies. But! It was never to be! Our heroes stopped them in their tracks and made their way, injured, battered, bruised, but with all the tieflings having been saved, to the Gold Gardens, where we discovered the heartbreaking history of Cheese and his older brother Spaulding. Where we watched Sunny get made up by the completely martini-smashed Myrtle and the delightful Bob. Also had a meeting with Bob, her angelic mother and her heroic father far across the waves. We watched as Captain Jack Brakkow finally let go in more ways than one as his muscles relaxed and his heart eased and he spent a night in the kind and tender company of the proprietor of The Gold Gardens, Garthy O’Brien, and had a nice bath for the first time in a long time. And our friend Marcid the Typhoon sent out some very important missives to Ayda Aguefort and Jamina Joy as well as detecting through the city 15 infernal presences throughout the Leviathan, as well as one celestial somewhere hidden. On the morrow, Myrtle broke the curse on the Mutineer’s Bell stuck to Sunny's hand, freeing her from its grasp. Sunny called to the wind, Myrtle called to the waves and the lesser devil was brought forth within the magic circle in the center of the Gold Gardens and revealed to be none other than Alistair Ash, a deceased tiefling who had been promoted to the role of lesser devil, but only as an intern on a cursed ship. So, you know, you win some, you lose some. Alistair was the explanation behind these storm druids and this trading company's ability to access all of this infernal magic through a series of astrally-projecting gnomish young mages and other magic users, deep in the roots of the Nightmare Forest, including Cheese's older brother, Spaulding. But, that horror aside, all of that contact had brought them in touch with Alistair to create the first round of enchantment lamps and then the larger infernal lamps in which these tiefling souls are captured, so that when the storm was brought to Leviathan, it could be destroyed once and for all. Our heroes look to each other and strike out to make their way to the Ramble where the uppermost highest altitude infernal lamp awaits. Having prevented these conspirators from summoning Bill Seacaster and binding him to their will, now they gotta go start this Storm God's city infernal bomb off manually, which requires them to be at the Ramble. So our heroes are breaking away from the Gold Gardens to make it there as quick as they can.
