Description[]
Sklonda is very much a classic goblin. She has green skin, yellow eyes, and big ears that come out the sides of her head. She has a classic "mom" haircut. As a detective, she wears a white shirt and dress shoes, and has an under-arm holster for her arquebus. She also wears her badge hanging off her belt.
She is a very intelligent, hard-working, and determined individual, all traits that she (almost regrettably) passed down to her son, Riz. She tries her best to take care of her son and steer him away from the dangers of investigative work, but since her husband died five years prior, she spends a lot of time working to support him, which inspires Riz to follow in her footsteps. She is the only detective assigned to the missing girls case, and is very exasperated at her son's constant involvement in trying to solve it and getting into trouble. Despite her strong obedience to the law, she often shows of a tinge of goblin mischievousness, like when she confronts Adaine's father or Angela Worrel.
History[]
The Beginning Begins[]
Sklonda is first introduced on her son's first day of school at Aguefort Adventuring Academy as she comes home from a long day at work to find that Riz has stayed up all night working on a conspiracy board about the case on his missing babysitter. She chastises him for not getting enough sleep, and for the barely-legal "unlicensed private investigator" business cards he made. She tells him that she's working on the case when he interrupts saying he can be her man on the inside. He shows her the one clue he has on his board, the fact that all the missing girls went to Aguefort, and she gets briefly distracted in helping him rearrange the board and suggest new clues to look for. She asks if he's eaten and pours them both a bowl of cereal when he tells her he had coffee. She pours her milk into his and fills her bowl with water when she realizes there isn't enough for both of them.
She reminds him of their plans to visit his father's grave the coming Saturday, as it would be the five year anniversary of his death. Riz says he'll probably be busy spending time with all his new friends, and he tells her he made business cards to make number-swapping easier. She grimaces. She talks about her friends at work and tries to convince Riz that he doesn't have to be so formal and professional all the time, but his mind is still stuck on his social interactions at school being used for interrogating, not socializing. He finally concludes, "First get the friends, then get the clues.", and he is off to school as she lays down to rest.
After the Afterlife[]
Sklonda shows up to the school cafeteria with Dusty and the rest of the Elmville police department in response to the Corn Ooze attack. Riz, who was hiding there in order to spy on Jace and Porter, quietly gets her attention. She's very displeased about his presence at the crime scene, until he explains that he was here with is friends. She tells him to sneak out meet her in the parking lot, and she continues her investigation.
In the parking lot, Riz explains why he was hiding in the cafeteria. Sklonda understands but points out that it was extremely reckless, because if it turned out that Jace and Porter did turn out to be criminals, then he'd be alone with two adult criminals. She'd rather him be safe than crack the case.
Most of her appearances occur with the rest of the police force after battles that the Bad Kids find themselves in (like in Episode 3, 13 and 15).
She used to be married to Pok Gukgak before he was killed by Kalvaxus and mourns his death in a secret spy room found in her apartment.
She partakes in the final battle against Kalvaxus, appearing after the time-stop and proceeds to eat Kalvaxus's face along with her son.
She is seen to be close to Gilear Faeth but ends up with Gorthalax the Insatiable in the epilogue.
