Subway Skirmish is the eighth episode of season 3, The Unsleeping City.

"This stop is, although it's crazy with the rush hour going from the G to the L, it's nuts. The battle begins. We see our intrepid heroes here gathered facing down Officer Epona Cirillo. You are here with Alejandro and in the arms of Pete is Nod the Monarch of Dreams. Also, Ox, the dalmatian appears next to Ricky Matsui. You see steam and smoke echoing forth from the cracks of the subway, Alejandro is casting an incredibly powerful concentration spell. Appearing to summon the train to Nod. Summon the train to Dream, because Nod the Monarch of Dream is dying here in the waking world. You see that he is actively trying to hold onto that spell, it is incredibly powerful. No act of magic could be stronger than making the MTA run on a timely schedule."
Synopsis[]
Epona with her onyx badge crooked, faces down the group trying to prevent them getting the baby back to the land of Nod, she attacks the dog first. Pete attacks the centaur with a fireball, his magic is cleaner with the assistance of the baby. Kugrash summons swarms of rats to help. Alejandro is concentrating on very difficult magic - getting the trains to run on time. Epona summons the spirits of additional crooked cops to assist her. They swarm the group. Kingston gets chained by Epona and willingly takes damage in order to inflict damage on her. Misty follows up by forcing her to dance, affecting her ability to defend herself. Alejandro says that their magic can help him. Kugrash summons the albino alligators to help him.
Pete does scorching rays against 3 of the four spectres. A train rushes through the station without stopping. Ricky causes the spectres to flee by projecting his nobility. Kugrash's rats finally overpower and consume Epona. Kugrash turns into a bear to better defend them. Another incorrect train travels through the station. The remaining spectres summon the spirits of more bent cops. Kingston orders two of the closest to flee. Two additional spectres arrive. Kingston is knocked out. Ox finishes off one of the spectres. Misty restores Kingston. Alejandro is finally able to summon the train to Nod, which arrives on the wrong track. Kugrash as a bear grabs Pete and Nod and runs into the train. Three spectres board the train, passing straight through the walls and roof and attack them. Two more spectres appear. Ricky and Ox enter the train. The rats eliminate another spectre. Sofia enters the train and attacks one of the spectres. Kingston commands the remaining train spectres to depart. Misty enters the train and heals Kingston. Alejandro joins the train. Pete's wild magic summons a unicorn and the train departs, dispersing the spectres.
The train travels through some mundane stations before passing unknown ones and suddenly entering the sky, which is full of stars. Nod wakes up. They arrive at the last stop and Pizza Rat departs. The train entices them to leave. The child, Nod promises Pete that no harm will come to them there.
