Description[]
Tectonya is an intense-looking Earth Genasi woman who looks to be made of polished copper. Her eyes are pupil-less, iris-less burning brass. she is fully bald with smooth metallic skin. She is similarly intense in her personality, with a highly deconstructionist Dadaist philosophy about the world and magic, believing that everything is spellcasting as if magic is understood as the ability of consciousness to affect reality, then reality must be a fabric of consciousness, otherwise how could will impose itself onto reality. She is an extremely powerful wizard who uses an array of mind-based magical abilities, and is the Superintendent of the Solesian school system. She believes she is a fictional character and seeks to escape from her reality and kill her Creator.
Background[]
At some point, she was associated with Asha Hammerheart, a cleric of Logran Soulforger. She also, at some time, had an affair with Arthur Aguefort. She studied The Eidolons more than any other person. She also became a fan of the fast food restaurant Slappy McFinnigan's.
She attempted to propose a change in policy to the Ministry of Adventuring in which the accountability for Solesian adventurers would handled by the communities affected by the adventurers, and change the extradition laws so that Solace would help hold adventurers accountable, rather than the inter-Solesian ministry managing the accountability of all Solesian adventurers, which was ruled out by, among others, a young Charity Blythe.
She had an affair with Karl Cleaver after informing him that his wife, Jana, was very likely working as a spy for the Ministry of Adventuring to watch over him.
Around 12 years prior to the start of The Seven, briefly after Charity Blythe would become Director of the Ministry of Adventuring, she would eventually become aware of the Ministry of Adventuring's Project Reset, a plan to capture an Eidolon and use its nature of only being able to use its power to grant wishes to create more adventuring by creating more problems. She was marked for death by the Ministry, and stole the Legendarium Extrordia and fled to The Temple of the Earth Defiant, where she flew on the Rombossa owned by Talcidimir Tallbreeze to The Baronies.
She would stay in hiding for about 12 years at her home, with her cat and watch tv. she loved wave by wave, the show Sam Nightingale stared in as a child.
History[]
Tectonya Karkovnya was first sought out by The Maidens to complete their early graduation, as they needed the signature of the of the Superintendent of Solesian Schools and a General Education Development to not be split up at the end of the year, as they were 3 Juniors and 4 Seniors. They would track her to The Baronies and a connection to Talcidimir Tallbreeze
Belles of the Baronies[]
At Talcidimir's airship Masquerade Ball, she would convene shortly With Danielle Barkstock, who was using the name of Anima, Empress of the Eidolons as her masquerade name. Tectonya, having extensively studied The Eidolons, was compelled to talk to her. Earlier, she also had her feet shined by Lysander Higgins.
Bloppelganger Blitz[]
She would be stabbed and killed by Jana Cleaver, with assistance from a disguised Preston under orders of the Ministry of Adventuring.
And Another Thing[]
She would be revived with a casting of revivify by Ostentatia Wallace, and would quickly get back into the fight. She casts a 10-foot hemisphere around Preston to prevent his escape, whose counterspell is counterspelled by Sam Nightingale, much to Tectonya's thanks. She then later counterspells Preston's Disintegrate targeted on her, and retaliated with one of her own counterspells on him, killing him.
After the fight, she immediatly calls for a party, and after consulting Danielle's hacked copy of the Legendarium Extrordia on her phone, sets course for The Necronomikron to stop Talura, as well as giving them the signature they need along with their General Education Development to graduate early. After this, she talks with Sam Nightingale on the balcony about Talura and sam's connection to her.
Time & Space[]
The Seven Maidens wake up to have brunch with Tectonya, still aboard the newly renamed Maiden Voyage. She talks about her tryst with Karl Cleaver, Project Reset and Charity Blythe's plan to use Talura to create demand for more adventuring by creating problems, as well as talking about the Eidolons and their past and Logran Soulforger's role in their past. When asked about why logran never speaks to any of his clerics by Ostentatia, she described him as "just really busy" and says that since forge clerics don't have access to the Commune spell, they have no opportunity to speak to him. When Ostentatia responds by saying she does have access to the Commune spell, she casts it, causing her to disappear.
After learning Danielle Barkstock was spoken to by Anima, Tectonya is stunned, as this revelation makes a ton of her research incorrect. From this revelation, they come up with the plan to, as The Eidolons are converging to Talura in the Necronomikron, hold a "Sister Seance" to summon the spirits of the Eidolons and convince Talure not to end all of reality. Whilst the Maidens go off to confront Talura, Tectonya stays behind to prevent reinforcements from the Ministry from reaching them.
I Fucking Love You[]
The Seven Maidens arrive back at The Maiden Voyage to see dozens of burning Ministry of Adventuring aircrafts around them, and after learning Tectonya feels very positively about conservationism, she is added to their group chat. She suggests they go to Slappy McFinnigan's to celebrate saving all of reality, which they do. She then returns to Elmville with the Maidens and helps host their impromptu graduation ceremony.

Arthur Aguefort[]
Tectonya and Arthur are both old wizards, both work in the education field and are both eccentric and intense people; so it is natural that they would be old friends. We see a flashback to Arthur & Tectonya at a party discussing magic, and when Arthur claims that chronomancy is the greatest form of magic, Tectonya claims that the magic of consciousness is the greatest form of magic based on the idea that for consciousness to use magic to change reality, reality must be therefore be a form of consciousness. They also hooked up at one point in the past, and when Tectonya returns to Elmville aboard The Maiden Voyage, they greet each other as old friends.
Karl Cleaver[]
Karl and Tectonya presumably met before Karl was married, however she was the one who informed him that his wife, Jana was a spy for the Ministry of Adventuring, hired to "keep an eye" on Karl. This resulted in him becoming unfaithful, and one of the people he hooked up with was Tectonya. Tectonya described him as a very "tactical lover". Karl was also the one to inform Tectonya of Project Reset.
Charity Blythe[]
Tectonya and Charity are completely opposed in most scenarios. Their first interaction we know of was a young charity opposing Tectonya's proposition that the Ministry of Adventuring should work with the local communities affected to hold adventurers accountable. Very soon after Charity became director, Tectonya learned of Project Reset, which would result in her being marked for assassination, presumably under the orders of Charity, forcing Tectonya into hiding for 12 years. Charity viewed Tectonya as a threat, and Tectonya saw Charity for the corrupt, shrewd snitch she was.
Sam Nightingale[]
Tectonya and Sam had a brief but friendly relationship, which started when Tectonya and Sam fought together against Preston, both using counterspell to assist each other, using a combination of silence and an impenetrable sphere to trap the jester, and communicating when to attack. Tectonya later talked to Sam out on a balcony on The Maiden Voyage after the combat. Tectonya could sense Sam's sympathy for Talura, as well as the fact that she had some of her death magic on her. Tectonya was also very exited to learn that Sam was a star in Wave by Wave when she was younger, as she loved it, and also said she'd vouch for Sam for the group where genasi women help lift each other up.
