The Bottomless Pit is the domain of Gorthalax the Insatiable in Hell. Just as Gorthalax is insatiable, so is the pit into which fall the souls of the damned.

Description[]
The Bottomless Pit is pretty self-explanatory. It is a huge infinite red stone pit, into which fall the screaming and fighting bodies of people who have been sent to Hell. The entrance is guarded by a wrought iron gate. The code to open it is 667.
Leading out from the gate is a path with no handrail, carved into the side of the pit and spiraling down around the outer edge. This path leads to the many rooms and paths of Gorthalax's home. According to Fig's imp, Wretchrot, there are many doors in the Bottomless Pit. Most of them lead to rooms, and some to hallways. He also confirms that there is at least one hot tub.
Book Room[]
One such room contains many books and tomes on the laws of Hell. Inside are mahogany shelves littered with black, scaled tomes as though in the scales of serpents and dragons wrought in gold. There's a roll-top writer's desk with a very evil little pot of ink and a very evil jet-black quill. The room also contains a fireplace. Many of the tomes are capable of stealing souls, but there is also a sizable collection of tomes that simply contain eons and eons of infernal precedent and common law. There's also a small fiction section.
Fig Faeth finds an ancient tome for devils who have been promoted into their equivalent of succubus and incubus roles on how to seduce mortals and capture their souls. It contains some really graphic sexual diagrams. Riz Gukgak finds an entire encyclopedia-esque series of books about coup law.
Hall of Sin[]
Past a gate on the pathway down into the Pit is a huge hall that is built into the red stone. It's dusty and rough hewn. Inside are seven suits of armor that gleam with an infernal light, three pairs lining the side walls facing each other and the last standing at the end of the hall opposite the door. Each suit is a different color and comes with it's own weaponry. Putting on the armor will flood the wearer's body with the power of that sin, making them invincible and unstoppable, but will find that sin inside their body and drive it to the forefront of their mind and soul and take them over.
The suits represent each of the seven sins:
- Armor of Gluttony - bone-white skeletal armor with a huge under-bite tusk maw. Its weapon is a massive spiked net. Gorthalax's prized armor.
- Armor of Envy(?) - made of all mirrors
- Armor of Pride - made of brilliant gold with an enormous halberd. Gilear Faeth later dons the armor, which kills him. It was originally made to punish Gilear's ancestor Athenriel.
- Armor of Wrath(?) - giant red armor with two double-sided flails/scourges.
- Armor of Lust - jet black leather stitched together with a zipper over the mouth. It's weapon is very upsetting to Gilear Faeth.
- Armor of Greed
- Armor of Sloth
Bed Chambers[]
Several rooms have a more sexy-Venetian-infernal-romance-novel vibe with silk beds and white marble walls. There's a wash basin with cool water and mirrored masquerade masks as decor. Each of the masks once belonged to one who thought they could claim the throne of the Bottomless Pit. They are supposedly watching through the masks as their hubris is punished forever.
Mirrored Hallway[]
One hallway is is lined with a large mirror that has special properties to reveal any shape-change or appearance-change illusions that may be in place: Wretchrot appears as a drop of blood; the Hangman appears as a hell hound; and Kalina doesn't show up in her photo, but she does show up in person. The mirror does not work outside of the Nine Hells.
Beacon[]
The beacon is a fiery beam that shoots up from the Bottomless Pit. It can be lit by the devil who reigns over the Pit (or someone related to them) by pricking their finger on an black, old-fashioned spinning wheel. In doing so, fire flashes through all the mirrors of the villa and a roaring flame belches from the Bottomless Pit into the sky, in the midst of all the bodies falling.

Gorthalax the Insatiable[]
Fig's dad, a archdevil who had dominion over The Bottomless Pit after his fall, but had to take a demotion after being trapped in a gem and neglecting his duties for several years so became the Bloodrush coach at Aguefort instead.
Figueroth Faeth[]
During a recess in Gorthalax's trial in Daddies & Demons, Fig and Riz discover a legal loophole which allows Fig to stage a coup, and take over the dominion of the Bottomless Pit from Gorthalax. She becomes an archdevil in Gorthalax's place.
Vraz the Mean[]
Executor appointed of the Dominion of Avernous, arch secretary to Blozo the Undiminished, Ragnant of Sloth. Led the tribunal to investigate Gorthalax's infernal negligence in administering his domain in Hell
