The Harpy was the most fearsome ship on the seven seas. It served as the flagship of Kalvaxus's navy during the conquering of Solace.
Description[]
The Harpy was said to have powerful illusory magic that allowed it to turn invisible, look like another ship or hide from powerful diviners such as prophets and oracles.
Part of its wood was made into an effigy of itself.
The Cerulean[]
After Kalvaxus's defeat, all his wealth and possessions were to be destroyed, including his ship the Harpy. However, he was able to switch the ship and disguise it as another, called the Cerulean. The Cerulean was destroyed in its place, and the Harpy sailed under its name for centuries after.
Five years prior to the start of Fantasy High, an agent of the Solecian government, Pok Gukgak, was investigating the truth about the two ships. When his investigation was discovered by Kalina, an agent of Kalvaxus, Kalvaxus ate him.
Aelwyn Abernant was able to acquire a piece from the hull of the Harpy, now sailing as the Cerulean, in order to summon a magical storm to its location. On its way from Fallinel to Bastion City on the day before the first day of school, the Harpy, with the Elven Oracle aboard, is sunk in the storm, killing the oracle.
Trivia[]
- The Harpy is named for the starship of Galatia 9 and Brucilla The Muscle from the graphic novel Starstruck, written by the mother of DM Brennan Lee Mulligan, Elaine Lee. The aformentioned ship would later feature in the Dimension 20 episode The Luckless, the Adandoned, and the Forsaked (Part 1).
