The Last Bastion of the Light, formerly known as Warren Peace Memorial Nuclear Power Plant, is a bastion defended against humans by approximately 21,730 stoats.

Description[]
The Last Bast is another name for the Warren Peace Memorial Nuclear Power Plant, an abandoned stone building built upon a massive rocky outcropping. Indoors, it has extremely high ceilings with a catwalk looking out over the interior, a large, open, concrete room. The inside is covered with ladders and pipes of all sizes painted grey, red, orange or blue running in and out of the walls, rust stains dripping down from the places they meet the walls. The walls and floors are also covered in stoat-made structures.

Background[]
The Warren Peace Memorial Nuclear Power Plant was constructed to generate nuclear energy for the nation, with presumably a minimum of three nuclear reactors (with only one, Reactor Charlie, ever being mentioned by name). Many humans were staffed at the plant, including the lead engineer, Dr. Robert Wenabocker. However, around the year 1962 - approximately 20 years before the events of Burrow's End - a group of stoats sabotaged the plant, causing a meltdown of Reactor Charlie. Dr. Wenabocker helps all other staff evacuate the plant, but stays in an attempt to prevent a complete meltdown, as he was already exposed to the radiation. However, Dr. Wenabocker could not prevent the complete meltdown, and is hunted down and killed by Phoebe, one of the stoats. The fallout from the plant spreads to the forested area around it, suffusing it all with radiation, with this area later being known as the Blue Forest.
